I guess this tap protector offers some protection but the material it is made of is not waterproof, i fitted the guard which doesn't have a window as shown in the picture it fastens with Velcro which is not shown, and after a cold spell we got a downpour, i went out to check the tap and it was soaking wet.Now i am no scientist but to my knowledge water freezes, so if the bag gets wet then cold it will freeze which defeats the object surely.We have not had a cold enough spell since i fitted it to check this out one way or another.but if i am right it is fairly useless.

These are not very large but as they were fairly cheap and came in a pack of two, I used both to cover my tap. I used the velcro fastener to fasten the two together and around the tap so hopefully it will do the job - time will tell. A solid brass tap broke last year. so it is worth a try.Just an update, the velcro straps are not very strong. The thing blew away with the first strong wind.

These are really useful they are easy to put on & they stay put which is a bonus, have had them on all winter & they have kept my taps free, have been able to take them on & off easily & just a wipe with a warm cloth to clean & a little wipe to dry them & are ready to put on again this winter. Well worth the money if they only do 2 winters, great product

After suffering a bust tap last year I decided to protect my new replacement given it's starting to get frosty.I believe these were the Amazon choice product and it's understandable. They are a great price and there are 2 units.The covers are quite thick and they feel nice and snug on your hands.Good value item.

They came in pack of 2, which are just right for my taps outdoor. They are not very big but just the right size for my taps! The Velcro are strong enough to hold the cover in place. One of my taps had burst last year, and I have used these covers for a week now, last week was really cold and I checked my taps every morning and they look good. I recommend this cover if you are going for good quality and affordable price cover.

I was A little disappointed when I first opened these items as they seemed very thin and didn’t look as if they would offer a lot of protection. One I puffed them up I placed my hand inside one and was surprised how hot by hand became within minutes. Easy to fit so-should do a great job.

A simple idea - a padded bag with a velcro strap.Easier to fit than the ones made of polystyrene tubingStayed in place despite the recent high winds.Does have to be removed to use the tap.
