Best Field Pants Ever
These are my go-to field pants. I own four pairs - I work outside in them nearly every freaking day. They fit snug, are stretchy so they are comfy, they are really durable (I've had one pair for two years), they hold permethrin treatment well, dry quickly - even when soaking wet, and actually look stylish. I get compliments on them. I'm 5.6 and 135 and a size small fits well - except if they get really wet then they sag a bit. In winter, I wear size mediums with long underwear underneath and insulated wind-breaking snow pants on over them. They are a little short but thats fine with me, I'm alternating between flip flops, wellingtons, waders, and hiking boots so something is always covering my ankles when that's needed.

Sturdy, well-fitting Waterproof Pants
I needed a pair of waterproof pants for a trip to Iceland. We were going to be doing some outdoor activities in snowy weather where I would need waterproof pants (ice-caving, hiking). My main requirements were: good price, narrow leg opening (I usually wear skinny pants and almost all the waterproof pants I found were very wide-legged and bulky), and the ability to layer underneath. These definitely fit the bill!Price - most of the waterproof pants I found with good reviews or from dependable brands were upwards of 100 dollars. Considering I would only use these for my Iceland trip and the random skiing trip here and there, I wanted something I could have handy for a long time without spending a lot, since I wouldn't be using it frequently. Columbia is a trusted outdoor brand, so for $65, this was terrific!Fit - I LOVE the leg opening on these pants! I usually wear skinny pants and almost all the waterproof pants I found were very wide-legged and bulky. I wanted to be able to tuck them into my UGG Women's Adirondack Boot II Black Leather Boot 7.5 B (M) , which I was able to with these pants. I also bulked up underneath by wearing a pair of thin thermals and Baleaf Women's Thermal Fleece Running Cycling Tights Black Size S and had no issue with these pants fitting underneath. They are perfect for layering, and I stayed pretty warm throughout my trip, despite being outdoors in the cold. The short inseam is an added benefit! I am 5'2" and usually have to buy pants with a short inseam - let me tell you, they are very hard to find. Thank you Columbia for keeping petite women in mind!I highly recommend these, especially for outdoor activities in the cold. I have not tried wearing them in warmer weather but they are so lightweight I'm sure they would be useful then as well.

overall a pretty good product
After reading the reviews, I was very excited to receive these pants. When I got them, I was a tad disappointed. I think my experience is more of a "every pant fits different" sort of thing. The material is great. It looks and feels wonderful.I'm 5'2 and a little overweight, so after reading the reviews, I decided to get a large. The large fits... but I find myself constantly tugging to pull them up and see them gathering around my knees. I think the medium might have been too small - I often find myself in between sizes (one of those "every pant fits different" things). They do seem to stretch out a bit throughout the day which only exacerbates my issue. The length is actually great for me. The legs, however, seem to be more on the bootcut side rather than a skinny leg (probably yet another one of those "every pant fits different" things mentioned before). As an aside, I considered getting the petite pants, but those reviews said the regular size fit better. All that being said, I like the pants. I don't think I'll be able to wear them to work or nice dinners (as some previous reviewers said they would be doing), but they will be fine for running errands, exercise, or lounging around the house.

What I was looking for
Flattering and comfortable. Great addition to my easy care travel wardrobe. I am 5'4" and the short length is just right.

You will love them!-update, fabric does not hold up
Took three pairs of slacks and 1 skirt to Europe. Wound up wearing these almost every day. They were comfortable, always looked fresh. I easily washed them in the sink and they dried overnight. The little pocket allowed handy storage of metro card or currency without having to access the money belt. No zipper means they are comfortable for long flights. I am 5'3" and 118 pounds and I bought a medium regular and turned up one hem. The petite was too short. You will love them!Update-I have always washed these in cold water and hung to dry. There is an area on each leg where the fabric has stretched out and will not resume its normal size and shape. The Lycra stretch is "shot" in these areas. I would say that the fabric is defective. The stride is too short in the front. Still, I am ordering another pair because I have not found any other pants that are comfortable, wash and dry easily, and look good enough to wear for traveling.

Too Short, Rise Too Low
I didn't like these pants at all. I found the rise to be too short in front and inseam length was too short as well. And this is coming from someone who generally prefers a lower rise and is not a fan of all the high rise jeans that are in style right now. I ordered a small because I am pretty solidly a size 4 in most brands at ~5'8", 125 lbs. I think I'm just too tall for the size small in these, as I have fairly long hip bones, and they were both uncomfortable and unflattering. I own a pair of Columbia trail capris in size 4 and the rise is just barely high enough, and have noticed with another other Columbia pants that I ordered that the rise is a bit short for a taller person who wears a smaller size. I also thought the fabric was a little strange, kind of thicker than I expected and almost like ribbed or terry on the inside. Overall yuck.
