I'm giving this item 4 starts - but I didn't open the box and it was returned as it was not what I needed for what I was going to use it for. Double check the weight resistance and make sure it's what you need. This is the second or third one I have had to return. Mainly I was going to use this to put at the end of the dogs leash for our walks in case I needed to tie her to something while we were out and about. It needed to be able to be strong enough for an 80lb dog to pull agains w/o bending - or be able to carry my weight incase I decided to put it up a hammock. Or be ready if for some strange reason I find myself having to repel down a steep hill or something... This will be great to keep your things together while hiking (ex: keep keys, hat or water bottle to backpack).

First off, notice the 9-pack has a different design than this 7-pack. This one has a wider barrel nut that locks the gate and is a solid ring. The 7-pack has a more narrow barrel nut and the ring is tapered on the flat side. I like to use small key rings and sometimes the keys are jammed against the carabiner depending on orientation, maybe the other design might be more favorable if you also like to use small key rings.Gate springs are stiff and strong. If left unlocked, lock will fall into place if oriented in a downward position while walking or moving around. Gate locker is great for preventing accidental opening, especially when holding multiple key rings.Barrel nut is smooth to operate and the gate aligns near perfectly with the carabiner. Seems like a well made product.

I bought my first set of these for a specific purpose: to fasten a tarp to my camper. Before the weekend was over, we had used all of them for various things and were wishing we had more. I ordered another set and now they just travel everywhere in my tool bag. It's surprising how often they get used and disappear.The clips are colorful and seem to be sturdy enough for my uses. I probably don't need the locking feature, but it's good to have.I'll probably end up buying more when these all mysteriously disappear.

I am on my video jug/boom attached to a 7.5 lb weight ( using with a stainless steel line) as a safety line to limit the travel of the boom arm when Taking on and off equipment. I also am using for hanging counter weight bags. Solid and secure, easy to use, Prefect.

These are a great option to those looking for something a little stronger than the clip provided for poop bags, collapable bowls, etc. The spin lock does occasionally come loose but overall a good purchase. These are really nice for the money. Way sturdier than the usual cheap carabiners out there. Definitely not made for climbing though! For hanging gear or keys these are a great choice!

These carabiners are well made for the price. Sometimes get a little sticky on close, but again for the price the value is there. The lock is great if you want to make sure it does not open, but can get a little annoying if you don't need it as it will often vibrate to locked even if you don't lock it.
