Q: Are the hardware pieces all metal or plastic? It states the swivels are metal, but what about the buckle/thumb loop?

The swivels, buckles, and adjustment slide are all metal. The thumb loop is made from the webbing itself and is double sown back on itself. I put this strap on my Browning .300WSM for Elk hunting in Colorado. Like it a lot.

It is a simple process with quick release attachment buckles.

No, they cannot. They are sown into the strap. The swivels, however are very well made; as is the rest of the strap. All buckles and slides are metal. I use this strap on my Browning .300WSM for Elk Hunting in Colorado. I like it a lot.
