Glengoynes finest
I first tried this at a whisky festival a few years ago. It was lovely, one of the finest 25 yr old Whiskys. But way, way out of my price range. Fast forward a couple of years and my mate gets a bottle. Tried it. Again it is amazing. Full of Sherry. Still a bit too much to justify. Now a couple more years later I find I can now afford to treat myself to a bottle. What a stunning dram. Much better than Glenfarclas 25. This is a really good drinker if you like sherried whisky and have a spare £220 - £300!!

Finest example of the distillers' art I know
Mere words cannot adequately describe the luxurious texture of this finest of malt whiskies from the famous Glengoyne distillery near Glasgow. Perched astride the Highland Line in the Glen of the Wild Geese, Glengoyne is my all time favourite whisky, particularly the Cask Strength (58.9%) which is how whisky should be drunk. I have visited several times over the last few years and strongly recommend you to take the tour. You will not be disappointed by the rich caramel and biscuity flavour of the whisky which is entirely unpeated and only combines the flavours of malted barley and Scottish spring water with the richness of the sherry casks in which the whisky is matured in earth-floored warehouses, breathing in the moist air of the Glen year after year. This is an expensive treat but it is to be savoured and celebrated as the finest example of the distillers art. Inhale the rich nose and don't rush your first sip. Let it fill your mouth with its delightful warmth and enjoy the sensation as it slips down your throat. The aftermath is long and fulsome and you get a marvellous woody muskiness to remind you that 25 years in the cask is a long time indeed. Enjoy!

A very clean and intense sherry experience
This is a fantastic whisky from Glengoyne no doubt. On the nose you get flavours of dark stewed fruit, syrup, dark chocolate (70-80% cocoa), intense sherry, marzipan and leather. The palate is creamy and mouth-watering but not overwhelming with sherry, dark fruit, chocolate (from the maturation in European oak) and plums. It’s certainly expensive but not overpriced, that being said I’ve had whiskies that were equally as good for half the price, (Glendronach 18 and 21) and it’s difficult not to nitpick when you’re paying £260 a bottle. However I don’t think that this takes anything away form this whisky since it is really wonderful.Obviously this is just my opinion and highly subjective however I can confidently say that if you like Glengoyne then you’ll love this 25 year old.

Outstanding
Spectacular! This whisky has taken the number one spot for best whisky I've ever had! Every thing about this whisky is on a different level from any thing I've tried yet, the taste is amazing, the smell is amazing, and the finish is other worldly. On the nose it has: Sherry, raisins, orange, chocolate, and vanilla. On the palate: Christmas cake, sherry, chocolate, raisins, and orange. The long looong finish of: Cherries, rich sherry, nuts, and old leather,I have to say this whisky took me by surprise, usually you find that the nose is better than the taste with whisky BUT this was the opposite! The taste is King with this wonderful dram and if you are a more experienced drinker then you will definitely love this whisky!

Stunning whiskey !!
Amazing whiskey a few drops of water to open it up and bingo a true sherried monster !! Simply stunning and worth every penny and more...... This will go up in price soon so snap it up while you can at under £250 a bottle !! If your serious about great whiskey then look no further. In my opinion as good as Macallan 25 year old and Dalmore 25 year old !! Check out there prices, this will go up in price and will still be worth it for a special occasion purchase. Great whiskey :)

Is there a better sherried malt ? Probably not.
Is there better ? If you like a sweet sherried single malt then there's probably not very much to match this. So well balanced, delicious flavours with gentle spice, just perfect.
