Built with Schwinn quality and pride, the Jasmine is a great bike for youngsters learning to ride. This Schwinn kids bike is sure to be a hit. Once they have built confidence in their riding skills with the help of the training wheels, simply remove them and they have a bike with all the features the big kids have. An ideal bike, these are generally single-speed with both coaster and hand brakes for easy learning that will grow with your child. Wheel Size : 16"

This is the one you want.
Bought this bike for our daughter's 5th birthday. She was getting awkwardly tall for her 12" bike so it was time to move her up to the 16". It's the right kind of purple/pink/girl decor without being too overboard girly, and I didn't like the bikes that had rapidly aging cartoon themes like Frozen. Everything was easy to assemble with just some box wrenches and an allen wrench. It's packaged carefully to avoid scratching itself. The front brake caliper is a little tricky to figure out if you haven't worked on bikes before, but it's a standard design. You won't get aerospace grade precision here. The pedals were a little tight and will work looser over time. The brake pads are a little non-uniform. But it's certainly up to the demands of a 5 year old. I hit the chain with a little garage door lubricant and the pedals and wheel bearings with lithium grease. The instruction manual happens to include a helpful lubricant guide. My only concern with the manual is that it's a little hard to tell which sections apply to this bike. Just think about it a little, grumble, and go at it. Everything will work out in the end and kiddo will be happy.

Used brake pads
We bought this bike for my 5 year old. She loves it! I had a local bike shop check the assembly and tighten any loose connections, and they showed me that the brake pads for the front wheels were very used. You may be able to see in photos that they don't tightly clamp down on the wheel when the hand brake is applied. We have only taken the bike out 2ce (it has been way too hot in TN this summer) since it was assembled, as you can see from the very minimal wear on the tires. I was surprised to have used brake pads since the bike was brand new and in a sealed box! I haven't been able to find where I can write/call the company to request replacement parts, so hopefully this can be remedied. Make sure to check all the parts for wear prior to accepting this bike-we missed our window to return it.

Girls love this bike.
Bought this bike after a lot of research for my two grand daughters (4 and 6) this bike fits both their sizes. I just adjust the seat up and down to fit them. Assembly is easy, handle bars one nut, pedals screw right on, front wheel two nuts, adjusting the hand brake (because it's cheap) was a little time consuming, but on a kids bike I like them to use the coaster brake anyhow. Training wheels and seat then its done. Both of the girls love it and can ride it with the training wheels very easily. I just might have to buy another one.

They don’t make em how they used to
They don’t make em how they used to...they went el cheapo on this model. Cost was moderate to low end, so I wasn’t expecting bells and whistles, but woulda been nice for the trainer wheels to touch the ground and placed at an appropriate angle. This bike is also considerably more difficult to pedal from a standstill...not sure if it is drag or resistance, but I reason that it builds strength for longer rides. My girl did like the decals and basket.

Not the quaility I expected from a Schwinn bike.
Not the Schwinn quality I expected. My Granddaughter loved this bike, but after just a few rides on it, one of the training wheels fell off because the screws were stripped off and the washers specific to these training wheels fell off and got lost. $50.00 at a bike shop for new training wheels. The sevond ride after that was fixed, one of the bike petals kept falling off and could not be tightened. Also stripped or faulty crank and screws. Oh , yeah, the decals on the handles came off right away, so if you’re buying it because of the decoration, forget it.

She's got a smile on her face!
My 7 year old daughter LOVES this. She rides it often. My basket came out of the box all warped out like it got hot and settled weird but she doesn't mind. I managed to put it together without instructions (which I didn't find until I put the seat on). Breaks and training wheels are all easy to adjust but use an adjustable wrench to ensure tight fits.

Worth the money, just buy it
This bike was the perfect choice for my almost-five year old! The size is perfect for her feet to touch the ground on the lowest position, so we should get many years of use out of this bike. The design is beautiful, and everyone compliments the bike everywhere we go. I like that it’s a bit unique from other little girl bikes. No tacky princesses here! We left the basket off as well, it just seemed excessive. It was fairly easy to put together, but I had a bit of trouble getting the brake pads just right. A small price to pay for the great functionality of this bike, but if you’re not bike savvy, it might take you some time. I like the fact that it has the option to “peddle back” as a brake. My daughter is still quite small, and won’t be able to use the hand brake for a couple of years. The only complaint I have about this bike is that there is no kickstand! My daughter does not need training wheels, so there is nothing to hold the bike up while it’s not in use. It seems like the bike will get worn out and damaged faster without the ability to keep it upright when it’s not in use. Not a dealbreaker, but a kickstand option would be nice.Overall, I would 10/10 recommend.

" I got a great one that I am thrilled with
After seeing mixed reviews on this bicycle arriving with complaints of a warped wheel, or rubbing items unable to fix needed returning, etc. I still took a chance and purchased this for Grammy's house for all grandkids to ride. "Santa brought Grammy a bike this year!" I got a great one that I am thrilled with! But what was I thinking? With 4 children, I've never purchased a bike with white wheels before as I just loved the look for granddaughters. DUH! What was I thinking? The cute little white wheels don't stay white after one riding.....Personally I'll now stick to those black tires...but wouldn't trade it because it is awfully cute....dirty looking but still cute!
