is the size accurate? I have a drawer that is 42.2cm deep (front to back not side to side), wondering how accurate the description of 43.8 is?!

The depth (front to back) measurement of 43.8 cm (17.25") is very accurate. But, even to place the organizer in the drawer requires some extra room in the drawer, unless you are able to take the drawer completely out of the cabinet.

Can you remove any of the dividers?

No. The dividers are secured in place to prevent removal and/or displacement.
