Soap Molds Owl Silicon Soap Mold Craft Molds DIY Handmade Soap Molds by Longzang (S054)

This review is for CP soap making. These little soap molds make adorable guest-size soaps. I've ordered these molds twice. The first time I ordered, I got two molds that hold about 1.65 ounces (by *weight*) of water. The second time I ordered three more and these ones are slightly bigger, holding 1.80 ounces (again, by weight) of water. The soaps I make with these are a just a little bit larger than that, since I don't use an offset spatula to scrap the back smooth - it's always a little mounded up in the back. In the first order, the silicon was quite a bit sturdier as well - the second order molds are softer and floppier. One of the molds I got in my second order was a bit mis-shappen, with one of the owl eye areas pushed up and more pointy than the other side - as if that side of the mold had been pulled when it was setting. I wrapped some twisty-ties together and then fastened them around the mold, using the wire to make the owl shape even. Though some of the molds are softer, and all of the molds are slightly different, I haven't had much trouble with the molds deforming when filled with soap batter. Even though they aren't perfect, they are *adorable* and work very well. They do work better if you use soap that's only set to a light trace, if you use something to lightly push along the beak (critical!) and other tiny pockets to help ensure there are no air bubbles, and tap after filling. Take care when cleaning to use a gentle hand - one of the first molds I got torn a bit on N edge - nothing critical, it still works great.

I really do like this mold. It is so cute and SO detailed. I originally received the incorrect mold, and since it came from China, it took a few weeks to arrive and then for the new one to arrive. They did not request the incorrect mold be returned, and sent out the correct mold immediately. I cannot complain about the customer service, and would have given 5 stars if the correct product had arrived from the start.The mold is well made, and a nice capacity. I have made a number of lotion bars with the mold and it unmolds smoothly every time. The details of the feathers and eyes are crisp each time. The thickness of the mold material is wonderful, and the mold is sturdy. No worries about the heat of the product I pour in warping the mold.Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of this product, especially in light of the low price.

I really like owls so I bought this for my soap making. Works like a charm. Soap is super easy to take out of the mold. If you make soap as a business, I guess it would be worth it to buy a few so you could sell some novelty soaps. I’m sure people would buy it. But if you’re making soap to be frugal, then this would be a frivolous purchase. When you’re making soap, you can only use the mold to make one bar per batch, so you’d have to buy a quite a few to have all your soaps be in an owl shape. It is a cool mold to add to what you’ve got if that’s your thing!

I love this mold! I'm super pissed at myself because I ruined mine when I wasn't careful enough gluing a magnet to the back of one of my castings when it was still in the mold and it took a huge chunk out of it... I really, really wish I had it still. Hopefully I can buy one again soon (mold costs add up quickly for me)... One of my very favorites and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I mean, just look at how cool these guys are!

This mold is a nice size silicone mold, and looks like it should last for long time. I am anxious to use it. The price is a little high, but if it last through me creating many owl bar of soaps for years I think it is worth it. I also thought of another idea to use this owl mold for; as a rice krispy mold. Make your rice krispy treats and press them in the owl mold and pop them out and decorate them for Halloween or just for some one that likes owls as a treat.

I purchased four of these owl molds for soap making. I am extremely pleased with how easy these molds work with no need to grease up prior to use. The soap pops out easily. I am very pleased that I haven't experienced bubbles or gaps where the soap wasn't able to fill - soap looks just like the photo provided when complete. They are a little expensive so I had to limit the number I could purchase but that's ok because they are very special and I know my friends and family will enjoy having these owl soaps.

Beautiful design, unmolded with no trouble. Using to make soaps for christmas - cold process goat soap. Well worth the wait to ship from China.

If you're using this mold to create melt & pour soap you'll b e very pleased with the results. I always get a lot of compliments whenever I use this mold; each piece is easy to remove & clean (dishwasher safe). The edges are also clean & it offers great detail in a cute owl shape.

The delivery timeframe on this was Jan 19- Feb 4. I was worried I would not get them in time to use for Valentine's Day (I ordered more than one style). They were actually delivered today Monday Dec 29!!! 21+ days early. That is awesome shipping time. Thank you! As for the mold, it is so detailed and beautifully made. Thick silicone shell really holds up to my Melt & Pour soap making. I have ordered many different silicone molds from a few different companies in China, and have been happy with them all, especially Longzang (sp?).

I was shocked at how small each soap was going to be with this mold. I don't think you could put more than a half ounce in each cavity. They would be too small to give as sample soaps. I would say be very careful in reading dimensions, which I wasnt. The mold itself seems durable but would not recommend for soap making.

I have used this mold for melt and pour soap making several times. It has held up for 30+ soaps and shows no signs of wear or breakdown. It's very flexible and removing soap from it is a breeze. Only draw back to its flexibility, if you move it after you pour the soap, it can cause ripples or warping in the soap. Just don't move the mold after pouring and you'll have perfect owls every time.

I love this mold, so much so I bought 10 more! It is easy to use and makes a very cute owl for my melt & pour soaps . Durable and easy to extract the soap from.

Very small is hard to remove product... I tried it as a jello and ice mold and I have others with better quality than this one

I could not be more pleased with this soap mold. So far I have just used it with melt and pour soap. It is just BEAUTIFUL! The detail is incredible! I wish I had more of them and could mass produce :) So easy to use and clean and makes such a beautiful owl soap. Shipping was fast! Thanks so much!!!

Would recommend. A little pricey but they've lasted over 30 pours each now (I bought 3) and still look new. I've used them for lotion bars. Hopefully they will continue on for a good long while. I kept the bags for storage so that should help. Would recommend if you want people to think you went to great lengths making these, but with none! :)
