Great value for a boar bristle brush
This brush is similar to and significantly less expensive than name-brand brushes I've used in the past. The plastic bristles intermingled with the boar bristles are not quite as fine as what the more expensive brushes had, but that hasn't hampered performance at all. Here is what makes this a 5-star brush:1) Quality materials. The handle is made of high-grade wood, it's sturdy, and it's well shaped. (The "rival" brushes had plastic handles that ultimately broke, although they do also make wood versions.) The bristles are also quality. Even with extensive use, none of the bristles have pulled out.2) This brush works well with my hair--wet or dry. I have thick hair, and it brushes through and detangles without pulling.3) And of course--the price is great for this caliber of brush.(If you found this review helpful, I'd really appreciate if you would click the "Helpful" button. Thanks so much for reading! Liz)

My scalp has become one with the universe
My hair. Such soft. Like. Wow. This brush. So good. So scrubby. Scalp happy. Hair shiny. My follicles were singing some kind of ethereal verse known only to those who have achieved nirvana after a thorough brushing with this brush. So enraptured was I with how stimulated my scalp was, and how soft my hair became, I couldn’t stop petting my head, attracting odd stares from my family, but they Know Not the Wonder that is a good brushing with this brush. It’s nice. Love yourself.

The Perfect Hair Brush
I love this brush. I bought it based on a recommendation from a friend, and I'm honestly amazed by it. My hair is thick and curly, and I've tried a lot of different things with it—gels, serums, leave-in conditioners, hair spray, heat styling, styling without heat, using all natural products, etc. I pretty much always have frizz, and to get defined curls, I have to straighten my hair and then curl it. Normally, brushing my hair gives me a fluffy afro, so I was very uncertain about even buying this brush. I have used this brush twice now. I took the before picture on a pretty good hair day for me, and then I brushed my hair. I didn't do anything else. My hair is smooth and shiny after being brushed, and the curls are neat and defined. This is amazing.

For hair like Rita Hayworth!
I am going to confess. When I first bought this brush I didn't like it. I brushed my hair 100 strokes a day and felt that all it did was just give my hair more body -- without taming the frizzies -- so what I ended up with was well, more hair with frizzies. I wrote to the supplier and they gave me a full refund, no questions asked. (Pretty impressive). Then, thinking that it was the nylon tips on the bristles that was causing my dissatisfaction, I bought a full on-100% boar bristle brush from somebody else. Well, guess what? To my surprise, the 100% boar bristle brush did NOT address the frizzies problem either -- or at least, did not address it any better than did this nylon tipped brush and it cost three times the money. In fact, with the boar bristle brush, I couldn't get through my hair to my scalp as well as I could with this nylon tipped brush. So, I returned the boar bristle brush and am going to go with this nylon tip brush. My theory is that with the boar bristles towards the paddle of the brush the nylon tips actually allow me to get more penetration down to the scalp when I brush. If you want a brushed hair look -- full, swingy, shiny, healthy and natural -- I can recommend this brush. And yes, I do brush 100 strokes a day with my head turned upside down. I have a lot of wavy hair to the middle of my back, just so you know. Oh, and for those of you who don't know, Rita Hayworth is a movie star from the 40's who had FABULOUS hair!!!.

Good boar’s hair bristle brush for thick, wavy hair
I had convinced myself that I *needed* a boars hair brush, to the point that I had justified spending $$$$ on a Mason Pearson. At the last minute I was dissuaded by more than one review that the classic MP brush works best on fine, thin hair (the opposite of the situation on my head). I dug around the blogsphere and came to the conclusion that a boars hair+ nylon bristle brush would work best for me. I like the look (and price) on this brush and decided to give it a try. It’s a winner so far — I use it to brush my dry hair in the evening before bed or to freshen up a blow out. It has helped moisturize my dry, brittle ends by way of moving sebum down the hair strands, and has brought my dandruff under control. Plus, a nice brush-out just feels good on my scalp. Really, I would have gladly paid the $$$$ for these effects :)

Budget-friendly boar bristle hair brush
My fine hair needs a boar bristle hair brush to tame flyaways and redistribute the oil. I bought this as a replacement when a hotel maid mistakenly threw out my previous hairbrush (it arrived within 1 day). This functions well, but the handle isn't as comfortable to hold as I would like. However the Mason Pearson hairbrush I really wanted Mason Pearson Popular Mixture Hair Brush costs about 10 times as much...My budget tells me to be happy with the hairbrush I now own.One year later: I am still happy with this brush. Is it the "best"? Probably not. However, as cheap as I am, this brush delivers the results I need.

Great brush!
This is a great brush! I just received our second because my daughter kept using mine! I have think wavy hair that knots quickly and this brush gently brushes through and quick! My daughter has long fine hair and hates brushing her hair. But since she tried my brush last month she's been brushing her hair more and her hair look so much better! So glad we found this brush!

I have long medium-thickness of hair that tangles VERY easily, and this brush works very well
I've used a con-air (gel-handled) brush with plastic bristles for many years until I decided to try something new. I have long medium-thickness of hair that tangles VERY easily, and this brush works very well. The handle is not uncomfortable (like I thought it would be, since it is wooden), and the combination of plastic (hard) bristles with flexible (soft) bristles allows the hair to slide through when there's a tangle. Rather than pulling roughly at my hair (and of course, some hair rips out), the brush actually works the tangle out just from lightly brushing. It's quite the difference! I was convinced I had the best brushing routine/set of tools down, but this brush has made me reconsider. I want to purchase one as a back-up in case something happens to the one I have now.

Started to build up static - stopped using
Loveley brush so I thought, I bought 2 in different orders. Started of really good but seems now for some unknown reason started to build up static and I use no products and have long hair past bra strap length.Consequently I have had to stop using them.Maybe it's because of the nylon bristle mixed in.Gone back to old brush which has solved the problem.I am disapointed as I loved it at first......Hence buying a second one...I know I cannot return items such as hairbrushes for hygene reasons so I am £30.00 plus outof pocket now, I should have took more time to judge it.

What a rubbish hairbrush. My girl has really thick ...
What a rubbish hairbrush. My girl has really thick hair and I thought this would be the solution after I read the reviews. It actually left her in tears. It almost sort of tangles the hair even more. Will stick with the old hairbrush for now

Nylon Bristles Are Too hard
Although the hairbrush is well made, the nylon bristle is too harsh on my scalp. I have medium to thick hair. My child actually screamed 'ouch' when they tried it.

Want shiny hair? Then get this one!
Totally love it. Makes my hair soft and shiny. Love the bamboo too as it's a natural product. Good price for the quality brush you get.
