Must have this kefir guide book
I love this book, here is why. It cuts through chapters of hype and gets down to useful information. I’m glad it’s a guide and not long winded book of not usable information. I’m sick of buying books that are just long but only 1 or 2 nugget of information, rest is all marketing hype. This book is an excellent starting source for someone who is interested in making kefir. It lays the foundation and walks you through step by step guide to making kefir from kefir grains. I had ordered several kefir grains, but could not get them started, they would just die off. Once I followed this guide and procedure. I was able to make several batches. I was doing so many things wrong which I never thought off..i.e. using chlorinated water, had my time and mixture all wrong. I tried searching online but it was too basic. As indicated this book is a “guide” as indicated on the title, so I don’t’ know why people are surprised it’s not full fledged recipe book. This is NOT a recipe book. If you are looking for different recipes do not buy this book. If you are looking to start making kefir drinks-this is the exact guide you should be looking for quick step by step instruction.

Very little about actually making Kefir
The content of the book was not what I hoped for. It has results of internet search about the Kefir making bacteria, marketing spiel about why Kefir is good for you. It has very little about the actual making Kefir. You might as well search the internet yourself. This book has no additional insight that is unique to the author.Another reason I can't recommend this book is that this book has confusing attributions. The cover contains the author's name as "Kinnari Trivedi," but the author on the product page is listed as "Brendan Watson." If I look at the author's page under "Brendan Watson," books by other authors appear on the same page, but other books are not cookbooks. When I look under the "Kinnari Trivedi" author's page, she has many cookbooks.Ali Julia review

Quick read. Great content. Well organized.
Going into the New Year, my goal is to get healthy. I had heard about Kefir before so figured I was excited to learn more about it. This guide not only showed me how to make it myself, but it also taught me about Kefir and the benefits it has. Being the type who does not jump into new diets without knowing the why, that is importent to me. I didn't realize the gut benefits of Kefir!Overall, a great read that I am happy to now have in my library. I will be referencing and making my own Kefir in 2017. Cool thing too, I can order straight from the book, making it much easier.

Poorly written
Don't waste your money. The method is poorly written and did not produce results. Only after reading other books and watching videos did I learn the correct method. Also, the author brags about the grains they use, how wonderful they are yet I could not find them anywhere...nor anything else about/from this author. The book was cheap and so was the info. The reason did give it 2 stars is because of what was written about buying probiotics. Basically that what is on the bottle as far as whats in the Probiotic may not even be active by the time you receive. That was the soupbone in the book.

Ultimate Guide to Making Live Organic Kefir.
Basic general info on milk kefir. It does not go into any other fermented drink, such as water kefir, although it mentions it in the beginning, which was disappointing. One thing I disagree with. He states you can not use ultra pasteurized milk or cream. Yet this is all I have available to me, and my milk kefir grains are thriving...producing amazing kefir and multiplying happily. I feel this would be discouraging to beginners, because it is not true. Possibly not the best choice but it absolutely works. In general, the basic milk kefir starting instructions are pretty clearly stated.

Takes a little time to get your rhythm
The book was helpful but making kefir seems to be a very individual and unique experience to find your rhythm with it. All the resources I've read say the variables like the temp you keep you home, the brand of milk used and where you place it to brew. All of these things can differ so much for each person. It took me about a couple of weeks before I found what worked consistently for me.

Great guide!
This guide has a lot of useful information about kefir and making it. It introduced everything you need to know about kefir, from what it is down to its benefits. Learning about how to make them and the do's and don'ts in that was really helpful. This guide is very comprehensive and easy to follow. Making kefir on your own is definitely better than buying pills and healthier. This was a good book.

Excellent book
I have been baking kefir for almost a decade. Still got to learn many new things in this book. The information is clear, the language is well chosen and it is easy to read. The author made a good job writing about the main subjects related to kefir in a book that you can read on your lunch break

Useless.
