Beautiful Array of Colors with a pre-swatched print on the lid.
This palette contains some beautiful colors and the maker has already swatched the colors and labeled them on the lid. This makes projects go faster, as you can select colors easily and not have to make a lot of colors. It has one of the best selections of greens and pinks I have found. I highly recommend this product.

Super fun to play with but some colors didn't make sense or were almost the same.
This set is so fun to explore water painting with. It comes with 1 paint brush and there is an impressive array of colors. But after testing them I found the 20% of the colors that seemed almost redundant - they just had a slight difference in color tone. Also, I wasn't sure why they have a white unless it is to wash out another color? Some of the colors are surprisingly vibrant and they all mix well together. However, I don't know why they needed so many similar colored water colors, especially the brown colored tones. Many of the lighter colors you could produce by just adding more water to the slighter darker color they provided. I would have preferred more of the darker colors like the fabulous ultramarine blue instead. But this is my preference. Some people may just like the colors done for them already. But I like the blending of the colors to see the effect. Another thing is that the single brush provided will not cut it if you are really mixing colors and doing a bigger painting. You will definitely need to buy more brushes so the colors won't get contaminated in a critical area. I can't wait to work with this set more.

Very Nice
I will admit from the beginning that I am 64 and no artist, but would like to make art projects. It has been many years since I had a paint box and tried to make any paintings with it. I know I had a problem with trying to do anything artistic since kindergarten. But I hit my 60's and decided that enough was enough. So I had the opportunity to try these paints. Not having ever taken an art class or ever even knowing that to use watercolors paint, it is important to have good brushes, the right kind of paper, and some knowledge about what to do, I have slowly been collecting what I need. One brush came with the set, that was a fairly tiny brush head, although I now have seen smaller. Through the Vine program I got some Kingart artist paper but then noticed it didn't include watercolor as one of the uses. Eventually I was offered some watercolor paper, and I found some watercolor books at the thrift store and some watercolor how to videos on YouTube, and with another art set for Mandela painting I had some different sized brushes. I had learned that watercolor paper needs to be wet down before painting and I needed a bigger brush to try that.I still need to spend more time with these paints, but compared to the last 'kids' watercolor paint box, these paints were so much better. with just a drop or two of water into the pan of the color I wanted I was able to paint with the color as long as I didn't dilute it too much. One of the things to learn is how much water to use. I love all the colors that the set has. I plan to spend more time learning more about using them before I wear them all out fiddling around with them and then they are gone. And I plan on learning a lot! We seniors are told to keep our brains engaged and active to help keep us healthy and I love learning new things. I am also trying to learn how to use alcohol inks, colored pencils and watercolor pencils, acrylic pouring as well as using the pieces I make in greeting cards. I also want to keep up with my sewing projects. I need to live another couple hundred years to do it all, but I would rather die trying than to never have tried!Thank you for the opportunity to try these out and I look forward to using them more.

Decent set of beginner level paint
Decent set of beginner level paint. I was hoping more of the colors would be true translucent watercolors. The paintbrush is great quality, nice & springy but holds enough water.

VERY sturdy tin, durable paint pots!
I’d been looking forward to the arrival of this set, so I was horrified to see it was badly crushed upon arrival. It was shipped in a padded envelope with no other protection, and boy did it get squished - I was just sure the paint pots would be shattered inside the tin. But my horror quickly turned to delight when I opened it up to find the paint was still in pristine condition! I was able to bump the box out a little bit, but it’s still bent. Doesn’t matter though, the important thing is that the tin protected the contents just perfectly!I’m not a “real” artist by any means, but I’m in love with this set. It has such a nice variety of colors, and they blend well to make an almost infinite number of tints and shades. Each one has a ton of pigment, much more than other amateur sets I’ve played with in the past. I don’t know whether this set would thrill a more experienced artist, but it’s certainly nicer quality than the average “toy” set. I would definitely recommend it as a gift for a budding artist, to encourage someone’s creativity, or just a nice treat for yourself! And bonus: after surviving that crush during shipping, you know it’s sturdy and durable, so you can take it anywhere!

Vibrant, Smooth, Transparent
I was provided this set of pan watercolors specifically to write a review. That said, I always try to be honest and open in my reviews. This is an amazing, professional grade set of watercolors. The colors are vibrant and blend beautifully to create beautiful graded layers.Having 38 defined colors means that it is easier for the starting watercolorist to maintain consistency in their early watercoloring days. Also, it helps one define a style.I cannot say enough good things about the colors. Now onto some of the added bits. The pan is thin and sturdy. You can carry it in a backpack, a easel bag, or just in a satchel with your paper. The lid tells you the names of the colors. As you make the transition from this beginning set to other paints, you will know what the proper name for the colors is.The quality control for the paint tubs was exceptional, no bubbles, no breaks, no bits of over-colored dough left over.I highly recommend this product.
