Completely Unexpected Quality - Great, Great Pen!
OK, so I have been on a bit of a pen splurge lately, but I could not resist this one at the price I paid for it.This brings us to the E-Motion Medium nib Faber-Castell fountain pen. What it lacks in fancy, superfluous packaging it makes up for with smooth, even writing that is a real pleasure. I am amazed how well this one does everything it is supposed to. It also has a very good clip (something I don't usually look at that much, but this one is solid). The weight from finial to finial is impressive, it posts well, and it is simply a really great pen. I recommend the Faber-Castell E-Motion if you are looking for a fairly low cost workhorse pen.

Solid, Reliable and Very Cool
I own many expensive fountain pens, and this is one of the best values. Feels solid. Never a dry start. Smooth and fun to write with. Very durable, finish is resistant to scratches or nicks. Faber Castell nibs are consistently great writers. I'd rate it a 6 out of 5!

One of the best Faber-Castell general writing pens.
Faber-Castell is known for technical pens, and as an architec, I use their products. They also make general purpose fountain pens. This is the second one I've bought, and it's truly a pleasure to write with. I bought the medium tip nib. It's quite heavy and I don't use it with the cap secured on the barrel like I do with other fountain pens for balance. This one is a stubby cigar and feels nice in the hand, rests comfortably whatever your writing style. Whether you write using the pen almost perpendicular, or like me with the pen almost at 45-degrees to the paper, with the barrel closer along my thumb. The ink flows incredibly smoothly and there's no stutter no matter how fast you write. I have done some small sketches with it, and the ink flow is fast enough for even quick strokes. I have another identical but different style (pear wood black) Faber-Castell pen, so this is my second pen. Why did I buy it? Because I knew that the writing style would be great and it's a pen that I can carry around - and leave my pear wood style pen at home.

Odd shape but balanced and a great writer
The pen is heavy and looks unusual, but it is well designed and built, with a good balance and an excellent nub. Smooth and reliable, consistent and decently wet. Overall an excellent pen.

Perfection Is No Longer A Concept
The Faber-Castell “E-Motion” is second to none, except for maybe the Graf von Faber-Castell line. This is a flawless writing instrument, which I cannot speak highly enough about. The writing action is absolutely perfect, flowing from one letter, one word to the next with a beautiful smooth motion. There is not even the smallest bit of scratching with this tool, none whatsoever. The nib is a physical display of perfection. It’s a beautiful instrument, offering a truly satisfying writing experience. With this being said, it would make an excellent addition and purchase for any individual who enjoys the struggle which is the written word. This is now my preferred and favourite writing instrument, amongst the many others I currently have in my possession. In summation, Faber-Castell really outdid themselves with the “E-Motion” line.If you purchase this beautiful instrument, beware. You will have a sudden and overwhelming urge to write from dawn to dusk.

Great pen but...
The pen is fantastic, there is a rubbery feeling to the touch, interesting how the company was able to achieve this (assuming that no coating was used) as the pen is anodized. It gives you a nice heavy yet balance feeling to the touch.Despite the heavier touch it is very comfortable to write with.On the plus side a ink converter is included with the pen!I have rated with four (not five) stars since there is room for improvement on the packaging.I am in with being practical but Faber Castle could do better, very poor packaging for such a rich pen.

A Quality Far Greater than Its Price
This quick review is for the BOLD nib E-Motion. For general writing, correspondence, and note taking I prefer a fine to medium nib. As a consequence I only own 4 bold nibbed fountain pens (out of 175). This E-Motion BOLD has changed my mind about bold nibs. It is very smooth and required no adjustments. It's great around the office when you want your writing to be noticed. In a world of tweets, texting, and email, a hand written note in big black bold writing gets noticed with it's expressiveness. The Faber-Castell E-Motion line is less than half of the cost of most of my higher end pens but it looks, feels, and writes like a higher end pen. The weight is substantial and feels of quality. It is cartridge fill or converter fill (converter included) and since it uses a ton of ink be prepared to fill often.
