Excelent scarifier and a good rake. As with all these machines, the bag is usless for holding a lot of lawn debris. It is quite durable and easy to change the blades. It is much more efficent than my previous Bosch rake although the Bosch pushed the debris to the front whereas this sends debris to the back and make is slightly harder to sweep into a large pile. Even so , it is still better thanks to how much stuff it can rake out in one go.

This is quite a bulky and heavy machine that needs to be assembled before use. The assembly instructions are pictorial and mostly understandable, making the machine easy to put together in about ten minutes. In use it’s very powerful and quite loud, removing massive amounts of moss even on the highest setting. I have only used it to scarify so far and have not tried the aerator, which can be fitted with the aid of a supplied Allen key. Downsides are that the cable is a few metres too short so I have to use an extension cable. Also, as others have noted, the grass box is poorly designed and does not fill properly. Even stopping to manually compress the grass/moss into the back of the box, it doesn’t fill much more than half way so it needs to be emptied more frequently than expected. However the machine basically does a good job of scarifying so I’m reasonably happy to tolerate the grass box issue.

Unit is light and easily assembled. Heads are simply to swop over. This is only the second time my lawns have been scarified in 40 years but machine made light work, creating piles of dead grass and moss. Collection basket is a waste of time as was full after only a few feet so the hard work begins when collecting up all of the debris!Would definitely recommend.

Great Product, simple and easy to assemble. Used it this the rake attachment on the 2st setting and it did a brilliant job of taking out dead Green and thatch.

Purchased to replace a Bosch scarifier that had given up the ghost. It arrived this morning, I put together and used it this afternoon. I used it with the aggressive roller left in place and started on the front lawn. I started on the lower settings but soon got fed up with that and set it to maximum (Setting 4). This machine got up loads of thatch, moss etc easily. Amazing! There was so much that the collecting basket could not cope. The best way I found was using the machine for four rows, without using the collecting basket (Easy). Stopping and then picking up the results, which proved to be the hardest bit. I used a lawn rake and a leaf collector to pick up the bulk before picking up the remainder with a lawn mower. Tomorrow I will change the roller and give the lawn a gentle rake before re-seeding. It really is incredible how much rubbish this thing gets out of your lawn - A builders bag and a half in my case. Well pleased! UPDATE: Used again today for raking as planned - this time I raked the whole area and then used a Gardena Leaf Sweeper to pick up the rubbish. Really time saving and efficient. Used for 3+ years.MeritsIdeal as lightweight, very manoeuvrable and ideal for medium to large areas.Adjustments from light scarifying to 2 to 3cm deep aerating.RecommendScarify on highest setting (especially for uneven lawn) and gradually decrease height to get best results, else emptying the box is needed every few yards!, though quickly obvious which areas need additional clearance.Use your rotary mower to collect up the thatch. It wll be better compressed in collection box - avoids unnecessary work to keep emptying the scarifier collection box which only fills about 50% at the most.3. Waste capacity ok, but better if 50% larger, and design tested and improved to better fill collection box.4. Safety start up and cut out good.Main disappointments.The collection box poor design, tipping forward means thatch slides and easily falls out. That said, the thatch weight can lift the front scarifier wheels off the ground?, soThe box on/off design is not ergonomic (1 out of 5!) - best described as fiddly and interfering with the scarifier handle.OUTCOME - You can spend more time emptying and trying to re-attach the collection box than actually scarifying!The motor will labour if you overload it by trying to make too deep a first pass if your lawn is thick with moss thats grown over several years. You wont save time / have a good result by using this method.All in all, better result than many models, let down by poor collection box on/off design and thatch ejection better filling the box
