RothcoCanvas Israeli Type Duffle Bag, Black

I have a queen size double tier blow-up mattress that ripped through its nylon carry case because of the mattress weight. The bag is the perfect replacement. It not only holds the massive mattress that includes a built in inflation device, I have also stored the mattress cover, sheet set and 2 pillows. It is so well made that it is managing the weight without stressing the straps. Now I truly have a bed in a bag. Love it!

Overall I like the bag. It's very large and looks like it will be durable (like other Rothco products I own). The handles are very long and are more like shoulder straps in length. I would prefer them to be shorter since there are tabs for a shoulder strap on the ends of the bag.The major downside is that it smells like a sweaty horse that's been ridden hard on a hot summer's day. I have a "super sniffer" so maybe you won't notice, but I can't even be in the same room with it, the smell is so bad. I'll see if I can wash it if airing out for a week doesn't help.**update** I washed it twice in detergent, twice with a lot of white vinegar and once with a cup of baking soda and the smell finally got to where I can only smell it if my nose is within 6" of the bag. Not great, but acceptable. I'm also burning some nice Japanese incense inside of it while it's zipped up (carefully) and that has helped too.

This bag is much bigger than I expected, maybe I should have read the dimensions, but that's not a bad thing. It has a leathery water proof bottom and the rest of the material seems to be better quality than the standard army issue duffle bag, it's a little softer but still strong. I'm a 23 year old male and I fit my entire wardrobe and my Xbox with a few games into the bag comfortably and it seems very forgiving. The only downfall is no shoulder strap or even attachments to put one so your stuck carrying it by the handle straps. Maybe I can find someone to sew one on. Other than that I love this bag. I originally got it as a "bug-out" bag but it is much more than that. This is going to be my SHTF, live in the woods for a few weeks type bag.

I bought this to hold my Tipton gun vise and related tools. It fit like it was made for it! Heavy duty canvas, metal zippers, 2 large end pockets and 3 smaller ones on the front. The handles are long enough to carry on your shoulder. Keeps everything together.

Fits all the martial arts gear that it was needed for. Bottom can be wiped down if it gets dirty. Well made but, seems bigger than described (which was a plus for us). It is able to hold a good amount of weight without stressing the bag

Jacob was called Israel. But anyway I gave it a 4 star ONLY BECAUSE the description of it is a little vague and maybe missleading. I have had it for a while and it works fine. The one they sent me came with a sturdy METAL zipper - brass, I think - and it works great. THE STRAPS go completely underneath the bag...it looks like they do the vinyl waterproofing covers the bottom of the bag so one can't actually see the straps going underneath but it looks as it they do. The vinyl is thick and durable. The mentioned "end pouches" are on the ends and they are large so to speak end pockets - One on each side that are enclosed by a flap having a piece of velcro in the center of each flap. The "3 zippered outside pockets" are smaller and made flat to the material similiar to a shirt pocket with a zipper on it - so in other words as compared to the end pockets they will not hold as much but they zip close - which is nice ... wish the end pockets had zippers. The zip side pockets are good for paper I guess. The "vinyl reinforced handles" are not reinforced with vinyl well the only vinyl on my hadles are two little patches on each side covering the top area where the handles are attached to each side. The straps are plenty strong enough.The material is good strong green canvas type.There is a similiar bag out there in Internet land which is about the same thing but it has padded shoulder straps with it - I like the shoulder carry option better so I got one of those too.But it ya don't need a shoulder option - technically you could hook these straps over each shoulder if you are not a pro weight lifter and carry it that way - then consider getting this bag.

Great sturdy bag.if you fill it up with just clothes, it can get close to 70 lbs.No wheels, so you h ave to be strong to carry that kind of load. Not for the faint of heart.No pockets etc:

God only know how many of these bad boys I have bought through Amazon and other sources. I am retired military and I can tell you with certainity (sp), these bad boys are worth every penny. If you need one----buy it.
