Taza Chocolate Organic Mexicano Disc 50% Dark Chocolate, Guajillo Chili, 2.7 Ounce (1 Count), Vegan

This is the best chocolate I've ever tasted. And I love chocolate. My benchmark up to this point was Scharfenberger Nibby dark chocolate (also available on Amazon). I've probably tasted hundreds chocolates in my life, from the $10/oz single origin handcrafted artisan organic fair trade hand-written message from the cocoa farmer fancy-pants bars, all the way over to Hershey's Special Dark.The stone ground texture is divine, just the right amount of grit to titillate your teeth as you bite into it. The flavor is nuanced, complex, and totally unique. It may well have been dreamed up by a Wonka descendant, as this chocolate tastes like an everlasting gobstopper. The finish is easily 30 seconds long. It's spicy, as you'd expect from chili chocolate, but not unpleasantly so. I even like the format; two discs with pie-esque indentations encourage you to break it into little wedges of perfection. A piece or two may even make it out of the kitchen to share before you devour the whole stack.After I ate this, I immediately went to Taza's site and ordered a 12 pack case of them, along with one of every other flavor Taza makes.

So sorry I have not found or tried this sooner. I'm all for smooth style european chocolates, but this is nothing less than spectacular. Immediately you notice the somewhat gritty texture, and the intense chocolate flavor. (Yes it's a good thing.) The sugar then melts to mingle w/ the chocolate, making it sweet yet not fully combining with the chocolate. (Again a good thing, as the sugar has a great taste all it's own.) The heat then comes slowly and is warm with no bite, almost velvety - if there can be such a thing.The second bite was just as intense and wonderful as the first - I strongly recommend.

Just the right addition to a mole sauce

I love chocolate—even better when it’s dark. A notch above is the addition of spicy heat. This has it all! Without question, this is the best chocolate I’ve ever had. I alsoVery much like the manner in which it is formed in a round, but with nice perforations to snap pieces appeared nicely. The only improvement could be to find a way to eliminate the grainy texture. It doesn’t bother me that much and adds to the small batch nature. You cannot go wrong with this!! We will be buying more! It’s not that spicy. The texture is a little bit gritty in a good way. Delicious.

appears to have been melted before - chocky, dried out, falls apart, not as good as previous orders.Just received the one new candy - same poor condition -looks like it was melted or frozen. crumbles, poo taste.

Really love the taste and consistency of the chocolate. The amount of good ingredients is a big plus. Love it.
