As with all amazon products, it arrived within 12 hours of ordering it (yay!)However, when I opened the box and found it to be a USA power adapter my excitement was shot down like a lead balloon.So off I go now to Wilko to purchase an adapter... whats the bet they also sell heat mats eh!Another side note is that there is no temperature control - its either on or off. You get the "control" from mat placement.

You can not use this item because you can not plug into the socket. You need a special adapter for that.So just waste of the money.You have to find a special adapter for that.

Brewing Kombucha at 'room temperature' is fine but you have accept that it's not a constant. This variation invariably affects the SCOBY's performance in your brew. That's not the end of the world but definitely makes a difference if your keeping it in a room that's out of the way and not that warm all day.This heater is perfect for the job, it's the right size, very cheap to run and keeps the Kombucha at the perfect temperature level.The only negative, a minor one, is that the plug is a two prong shaver type and needs an adaptor for three pin.All in all I'm very happy with it and will be ordering another once I'm running two jars...
