Hallelujah! A Solution for Holding an Ice Pack on My Foot After Exercise / Physical Therapy!
I am currently undergoing physical therapy for severe Plantar fasciitis and a bone spur that pokes up into my Achilles tendon. The therapy is designed to stretch and strengthen the surrounding muscles and tendons. So far, it has been pretty effective, with the next step, if the therapy isn't enough, being some serious surgery to remove the bone spur, with downtime in a cast for 16 weeks. The therapy consists of exercises that do cause a bit of pain and discomfort on their own, which requires icing down the ankle and heel area afterwards, just as playing tennis or hiking through the woods, or even going on a long walk requires. The problem with the icing, though, is that the long, narrow ice pack designed to wrap around the foot is quite difficult for me to secure correctly. My Physical Therapist said to put it in a pillowcase and tie it around my foot. I just can't get that to work. I've also tried securing it with an Ace bandage, but that is hard as well, since I am pretty inflexible and tall (this is part of the underlying cause of the Plantar fasciitis and bone spur). After seeing someone in a walking boot, I decided to try ordering one so that I could put the ice pack in the boot, then my foot in the pillow case, then tighten the boot around the ice pack.It works great! I ordered the XL boot even though my foot is a large size. Now I can comfortably wear the ice pack, and even walk around if I feel like it. Now I'm icing more frequently, and this makes doing my Physical Therapy exercises far more comfortable.Pros:• Inexpensive and built for wear outside and inside• Velcro straps and padding hold the ice pack securely• LightweightCons:• None

it works and it is not expensive
I used this for an avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal (small bone on the outside of the foot). I wore the boot for any weight bearing activity. This would include walking in the house, in the yard, working with rocks and dirt, hauling band equipment and playing music on a stage. It was not comfortable, but this is not the fault of the boot. After 4 weeks of hard use, the boot is still 100% functional. One tough boot. I'd recommend to a friend. I wear a size 13 D running shoe and this Extra large boot was a bit too large, but I fixed that with some extra padding I cut from an old wetsuit.

Thanks for getting me back to work.
This boot enabled me to get back to work when I was suffering with my first case of gout. I am a school bus driver and my left foot blew up like a balloon, and was quite painful to walk on, and I was missing time at work. My doctor suggested getting a boot and called my insurance company they wanted $275 for it, so I checked Amazon and found this one for $35. It is exactly like the more expensive one, gave me the support and comfort that allowed me to go back to work. THANK YOU UNITED ORTHO you are my life saver.

Saves $
If you get this from your md it’s very expensive unless your insurance covers it.

It works OK
With a foot that has two fifty cent holes in the bottom of the foot. A heal that dropped a half an inch and toes the size of hot dogs I went for a walk in the woods and over a small cliff to a river bed below. There I filled 12 gallons of water and climbed back up the cliff. I knew with such a late start, darkness would be setting in on the way to the car. This is not yet the end. I have not yet delivered the twelve gallon to the "pond", where 12 fish and what would be part of 20.000 bees that come to the waterfall each year were waiting. The boot worked great.
