A 10-Year Usage Review
I have been using this product for nearly 10 years, and purchased the same pump from this seller 6 times. I must say their price and quality are among the best in similar products. I live in Houston and have a koi pond of around 4,000 gallons, with koi and water plants. Because the weather is extremely hot, I run the pump almost year-round, 24 hours a day, only shutting it off when temperatures drop below freezing. Under these conditions, the pump typically lasts just over a year before it breaks down, which I find acceptable. Other products I've tried didn't last as long and were more expensive. However, I did have to return it twice due to issues arising within just a few months of use, so I can only give it four stars.7/1/2024: After one week negotiations, seller sent me a replacement.6/22/2024: I have It broke down after just over three months of use.Because the GFCI tripped due to the rain, I unplugged the plug to reset the power. When I was about to plug it back in, I noticed something inside the socket. I took it out and realized it was the middle pin of the three prong plug that had broken off inside. I have never encountered anything like this before. It was very easy to unplug, and there was no resistance at all. The quality of this power plug is terrifying.I have purchased the same product from them five times during these years, and it usually lasts over a year. Since I run the pump 24 hours a day, whenever it breaks, I always assume it's a motor issue or battery problem. I never thought to check the plug. I have heard of power cords breaking, but I never imagined the power plug pin itself would broken inside the socket.Since it has been over Amazon’s 30 days return policy, I can only contact the seller to request a replacement or refund. To my surprise, they replied saying... “We apologize that we cannot replace the wire for you, as it is sealed directly inside the motor with epoxy resin. To help you resolve this issue, we'd like to order a new plug from our manufacturer and send it to you. You can cut off the original plug and attach the new one. The shipping time will be about 2 weeks. Please let us know if this is acceptable.”This is an outdoor appliance and it's for a water pond. If something goes wrong because I did the wiring myself, who would be responsible? This is also a safety hazard. If an electric leak or shock occurs, I don't think they will take responsibility for it.Really disappointed with this seller.

Two years and still going strong!
Purchased in 2022, for my biggest "Honey I have an idea" project to date; a 1000 gal Koi pond and diy 50 gal can filter. Here in NC, the first winter got pretty cold, so I took it out and only ran the aerator, but it only froze at the edges. Since then it's been running 24/7, minus the twice a year I take it out to clean, which is super easy, with no issues. I used a 50 gallon can, for the filter, and then have a triple waterfall back to the pond. This pump moves the water at a fantastic rate, and I can't even hear it, unless I am listening for it. They say the test of pond water quality are how happy your fish are... Well my Koi surprised me by hatching babies in 2023 and 2024. I'd certainly say that this pump has helped make that happen. Actually ordering a second unit to help keep the growing fish family happy. I definitely recommend.

It simply does not work
I got this pump to replace a Aquascape aquasurge 5000 making a funny noise (purchased by the previous home owner only 3 years ago) and this VivoHome pump simply does not work - a 'specialist' blamed it on the piping not matching, which I doubt to be the case.Positively, I was able to connect the check valve without the help of the outflow tube this pump comes with so not buying additional 'tubes and pipes' - anyway, as I said, the pump did not work so my research continues as to why I have these problems with the original pump.Check the pictures in case the dimensions help: outflow connecter length: 5 inches, large end: 2 inches (1.75 inches inside) and small end: 1.25 inches (did not measure it inside since had no usage for me). This pump is way lighter than the original pump mentioned earlier and I took it apart to check it inside: I simply could not open to check the impeller despite trying many times - might be a problem with this pump (as you find with many items made in China) or will all of them. I have no problem with my original pump in checking the impeller but not the engine apparently encased in resin - everything to make it difficult for the buyer and push you to throw more money into buying a new one, right?Amazon prime membership always helps in returning my items via excellent customer service which I highly recommend.

Great Value
I have a large water feature and my pump went out. After searching the internet, this pump stood out as the lowest cost option. My current pump is rated at about 3800GPM, while this pump is rated at 4800GPM. Some of the 1 star reviews complained about low flow, but if you understand these high volume pumps, they are not designed to maintain high flow, under high head pressures (10 feet-ish), which could be the reason for some of those reviews. Since this pump cost about 25% less than the closest challenger, I opted for the added GPM, in case it underperformed. I installed the pump a week ago, and it is operating great. The flow is more than my previous pump, so I would say their rating is accurate. It might help to have the flow/head charts in the Amazon details. Can't rate the longevity yet, since it's only been a week

Almost to much flow
Installed this in my koi pond. The pump is submerged about 4 feet under water and pumps up to the filter box about 6 feet up. Even pumping up that high it's almost more than my filter box can handle. It's been running non stop for almost a year with no problems.

Vivo Home pg4500-s submersible water pump
The media could not be loaded. I've been running one of these pumps for the better part of two years now with no problemsand is pumping as good as the day I bought it. The pond is an endless project I'm always improving. I just purchased the same pump for a backup just incase so I do recommend this product and have bought it again. I believe it's a great price & a dependable pump.
