Fantastic Machine - Great Coffee!
Since my last comment a year ago I have moved to the US and due to voltage have been forced to buy a new machine. Purchased exactly the same one and continue to be just as satisfied as with the first one. Paid the price - but having said that I see that costs are falling here. The new machine operates as consistently and well as the first. Recommendation therefore remains the same!We bought this machine a month and a half ago with great anticipation since we experienced Nespresso several times before. Since we are fans of cappuccinos, Lattes and Macchiato's this machine seemed to answer our needs. It did and in spades. Everything the machine is expected to do it does. I read other reviews but have not experienced any of the issues mentioned. The milk froth is fine, even adjustable. I prime/clean the spout after every session to make sure all is clear. Since you can adjust the quantities I was able to play around (drinking much coffee, strong and weak) before finding my 'eureka!'. It's simply the most easy coffee machine to use, with fantastic results. As for temperature of the coffee - I also felt sometimes the coffee wasn't warm enough but after running my cappuccino mug under hot water before making the coffee for a moment this was no longer an issue. We've had friends with typical home version espresso machines that just sit there until there is a special occasion because it's just too much trouble - this machine has easily become an everyday machine for us since we got it, which is what I think Nespresso/Delonghi intended.PROS: great coffee, many choices (even the short intense blends work in cappuccinos or long (luongo) coffees, space for taller glasses/cups for milk coffees, EASE OF USE!CONS: price (pretty steep in the US - I bought mine in Switzerland for US$500) but for the ease of use it's worth it, the space for taller cups is relatively narrow so you need to find ones that will fit (your usual huge Starbucks mug won't cut it here).

Don’t waste your money!
We received the package today the box looks like it went through world war 3 the foam on the inside is broken the pieces to the machine are thrown all over the box. The machine also looks used like someone washed it and put everything back together and tape it back. Truly disgusting that people sell things like this on here! Don’t waste your money! Coffee taste like burnt water machine does not work great at all

upgrade to Lattissima from Citiz.....
1/14 update: unfortunately our machine is dead. A quick call to Nespresso and they dispatched a shipping box to return the machine for evaluation under warranty. Keep in mind that I first called DeLonghi who i assumed was the manufacturer. They informed me to call Nespresso customer service. We of course were offered a loaner machine which we declined. Several days later and we are being told that our machine cannot be repaired and they are offering us a Lattissima PLUS as a replacement.....hmmm. We have yet to understand why ours cannot be repaired ( it is still on Delonghi's website as an available model) and the plus they are offering is a lesser model....more to follow....We have been devoted users of a Citiz and separate Aerocino milk frother for about 3 years now. It all but replaced Star*ux for us....The purchase of Monin syrup for my wife's vanilla latte and straight triple cappuccinos for me. The nonstick coating on the Aerocino (our second as the first was replaced under warranty with absolute ease) had started to burn the milk fat more and more so that cleaning was getting to be a bit of a drag (3mins instead of 1min) and I had a birthday coming up. I hinted strongly that we should get the milk "on board" Lattissima...We struggled over getting the older Latissima that has the larger double boiler system but in the end settled for the newer and more compact 660 model. Well after little more than a week, we may be in love again....Our old Citiz is sitting on the counter next to the shiny red Latissima. First the good - the temp of the steamed milk and espresso is the same as the Citiz. No hotter and no colder. Would we like hotter? Absolutely. But it is hot. Of course we always run a preheat cycle through the system and into the cup for a bit of a preheat. It does help. It took a little time for me to re-program the run cycles for the desired amount of milk and espresso but once set up, you are good to go. It produces the same high quality drinks that the older nespresso machines produce. Now for the downsides. Yes we love the compact size of the new 660. BUT, the water reservoir needs filling almost constantly. A larger rear mount water reservoir would be preferred even if it means a larger machine. I think it is just too small. Refilling every day is a bit of an effort particularly since you have to slide out the whole bottom tray. The milk reservoir is not large either BUT I am ok with this given that you want to clean it every few days and refilling is a bit easier given that you are moving it back and forth to the fridge all the time and well the milk is just sitting next to it in the fridge....So water a bit small, milk small but ok. The only other negative is the leaking. The 660 seems to leave have water puddles on the counter and in random places in/around the pull out tray. A bit annoying. The bottom tray just has alot going on (multiple parts that slide in/out) and there always seems to be some water that needs to be dried. Not a huge deal but I am not even sure where it comes from and well the water supply is already in short supply. Finally, the only item to note is how small the cup area is - it is narrow and low. not much will fit here. Even with the drip tray retracted, the space is soo narrow that only the thinnest of tall cups will fit. We have got to search for the right cup to use to brew into before dumping into our favorite "house" mug or travel mug 'cause none of these will fit.So where does this leave us? Do we like it? yes. Do we love it? yes. Do we love it more than the Citiz (I know a few reviewers claim that they went back to their older machines)? Yes. If we regularly drank just espresso or lungos then no. But every drink we make uses milk and the ease of brewing and clean up of the Latissima is better than the old two piece system. And lastly, how do we still feel about Nespresso capsules? We could not be happier. It is a great system and great coffee. That said, given increased market penetration, Nespresso owes us cheaper capsules....our loyalty would grow even greater if you lower prices as you achieve greater economies. Also how about a sale on coffee or quantity discounts based on past Club purchases??? I expect that my Club Nespresso loyalty should translate into exclusive coffee offers, discounts, free stuff....etc. C'mon you have a captive audience that loves these machines and these capsules...do not rest on your laurels - create a lifestyle a la Star*ux (think Gold card rewards) and have your users singing your praises to all....
