A great second monitor for travel
I'm an instructional designer and 3D jewelry artist, and I literally dreamed of having a second monitor for traveling. I had originally purchased my top-of-the-line MacBook Pro to make instructional ZBrush CAD videos, but the fan runs constantly and it's picked up on any external microphone. My idea to place my MacBook off the table and record from an external monitor seemed to be the right solution. I also found that the Retina display on the Mac causes Camtasia to record video at a much higher resolution that has to be downsampled, making the software interface blurry. I needed to record at a native 1920x1080 resolution.Unboxing was very "Apple-y." If you've ever bought an Apple product, the heavyweight box, the packaging reinforces that you've just bought something special. They include a nice instruction book that's got lots of pictures...sometimes when you buy something from a manufacturer in the Far East, the instructions are not well-written. Lepow's instruction manual feels familiar and is nicely done...it's very clear.Anyway, this portable monitor does the trick. I bought it on a whim for Black Friday because the price was in my budget, but even at full price it's a nice monitor. If I'd seen it before buying, I would have paid full price, but taking a chance on a new product and company I'm not familiar with, the price was worth taking a chance on. I also see that Amazon may have a coupon...look for that as well.I also LOVE that it's powered by the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro and doesn't require a power cord to run from the USB-C port, although I finally read the instructions, and they suggest plugging it in...if you don't, the monitor comes up not at full brightness, but at least on a MBP with USB-C, it does work. The folding cover makes it feel like I'm carrying a large iPad, and it seems to protect it well. The only thing that I'd like to see changed is the "roll" button for changing the settings. I cannot figure out how to jump from the main menu to the individual setting items...I've tried, but still trying to figure it out...there's got to be a trick that I'm missing. There is a left column of main settings, and it says to press the roll key to activate the menu, scroll the roll key up and down to choose a setting, then press the roll key to confirm. There needs to be a little more information about this in the little book, about how to change columns.I was WAY overcomplicating the stand, too. I was trying to fold it like an iPad...and I was overthinking it. It's attached magnetically to the back of the monitor, folded in an "L" configuration (kind of like a Lexus logo...), then the monitor sets in one of two grooves for two different viewing positions. Also, be aware that the two USB-C ports are not the same. One is a full-functioning USB-C port (on the left), and the one on the right is for power only. When I connect my MacBook Pro to the left USB-C port only, and the MBP is plugged in, it works just fine without external power. That is my experience with the MBP, so I don't know if that applies to a PC notebook. It comes with all of the cords that you'll need to connect, including a USB-C cable, HDMI cable, and a power source cable. If you were on your way to a hotel or conference and decided to have this delivered, you won't be searching around for a Best Buy at closing time to find cables.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this monitor...it's already making my life easier! I'd say if you're on the fence, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. It's got a generous viewing area and the portability is perfect.

Great for digital nomads.
I travel a good amount and absolutely MUST have a 2nd screen for my work. When I made this purchase I was looking to downsize from a 2nd monitor that just barely squeezed into my usual travel bags -- my tech backpack, for example, was straining at the seams once the old monitor was plugged into it.I ordered this and another brand at the same time to test which one I liked best; I have had extensive compatibility issues in the past with my work-issued computers not recognizing my secondary monitors. This one started up right away once connected to my work laptop (the other one I ordered was also supposed to be 'plug and play' but guess what. Nope! my Dell laptop couldn't 'see' that one). It's large enough to be easy for working but small enough to travel well, and is not too heavy to schlep around. The little stand/case hybrid is pretty flexible; I've found it fairly easy to prop at all different sorts of angles. The only thing keeping it from being 5 star rated is it could be just a smidge brighter; at max brightness setting I still find myself wishing for a few more nits. It's been on several long overseas trips with me and looks great still. A solid choice at a great price point.

Good portable monitor
My reviews are only based on my own personal experience on the product.Likes:-Good Quality; No broken pixel on the screen.-Like the product design (simple and elegant for me); Bezel is not that huge.-Portability; not that too heavy.-Has a case and screen protector included (Big plus for me, Thank you)-I am not saying that you can or you do but I plugged mine on a power bank and it worked as a portable power source but did not tested it for a long period of time. Just saying that it can be possible as experienced.Dislikes:-I like the fact that it has a speaker but not loud enough; kinda "ok to fair" rate but not best.-Used it on my Nintendo Switch, you still have to use the dock; Though sometimes when you take it out off the dock and plug it in usb c it works but only in a rare occasion.-Not really much of a big deal but I would have prefer HDMI to HDMI cable connection from the monitor plug.Additions: (Disclosure: did not base rating the product with added comment on this section)-Its not a product defect but it did not came with the screen protector instructions/manual so I messed up putting it on (like where is the front and where is the back screen).-only 1 screen protector included; No room for errors on putting the screen protector.-Length of the HDMI to Mini HDMI cable was ok but I needed longer (Still bought a 15 ft. cable with Mini HDMI adapter as I needed)-(As a reminder for new buyers) Does not have a built in internal battery as already acknowledged; You need a power source either plugged in to the ac adapter, outlet or laptop. Plugged it in my laptop as seen in the picture and it works.-Positively, built-in batteries deteriorate over time so I did not mind if it does not have it. Either way its ok (for me).-Does not have outlet adapter if you need to plug it in the outlet.-You need as different monitor stand if you wanted to put it vertically straight standing otherwise you have to slightly tilt it for safety (risk of falling down or sliding). Trying to look for a clamp stand so I can tilt it slightly downwards. Not much of an issue, monitor point of view is still great from the cover stand provided.-Visited the Lepow site, did not see this product on their online shop on their main site.-Got a $20 off coupon promotion from the time when I was buying it; save me some few bucks, also one of the reason that pushed me from buying it back then otherwise it would be too expensive for me.-Never fond of buying a product brand that I have not bought before or seen that much in general, this is my 1st time buying a Lepow brand product. Conclusion:Good monitor, have not tested it that much yet; Will update if there is anything new recently discovered about the product if have the time. I basically bought it for my Nintendo Switch and PC.
