I have two cats with very different fur. One is a slick black cat with very fine, silky fur. The other is a tabby with a double coat of thicker, more straw-like hair. I've struggled to find a brush that works well for either of them, much less for both of them. Those struggles are over!This brush handles both their fur types extraordinarily well. They were both a little wary of it but now come up to me for brushing and will rub their cheeks against it to get me to brush them out. I can't believe how different their fur feels. They both are much softer and seem to be less itchy. There's also less loose fur tumbling around the house!The slight scraping sound it makes probably had them a little nervous at first. We went slowly and I demonstrated by brushing on myself so that they could get used to the sound and feeling at their pace and know that it is safe. I was worried about hair pulling at first because of the noise and how much hair came off, but it quickly became clear that the hair coming off was loose already. I recommend practicing patience with your animals, especially if they haven't had a brush like this in the past.I like the design of the brush. I have smaller hands, and the small brush fits well within my hand and almost feels like I'm simply petting my cats and not brushing them. It's very easy to clean up the hair since it mostly collects on the underside of the brush.The only thing I wish was different is the sides of the metal and where it connects to the wooden handle. One side of the metal extends out past the handle a little bit (a very, very little bit!), which can be slightly uncomfortable if I run my hand against it the wrong way. I plan to add a dot of hot glue or silicone sealant to protect myself from this. I suspect this is perhaps just a slight quality issue with the brush I received, but it's an easy enough fix that I won't bother with a return or exchange.

Get this brush! I’m not kidding, when I say this thing is the best. I never do reviews unless I’m impressed btw. We have 4 large dogs, 3 of them are husky mix breeds. They have been shedding 3x’s as much this year (It’s been extremely hot here in the south) and it’s been though keeping up with them shedding this year. And the many other brushes we have was not doing the job that well. So I decided to give this brush a try. I had been seeing them for years, mostly used on horses. So when I went looking again for something better I figured I’d give it a try. And I’m impressed by the amount of hair it gets! Also my dogs seem to actually enjoy being brushed with it. I also used it on my couch and rug and it does extremely well on those as well. So don’t hesitate and just get this brush before you waste your hard earned cash on other brushes.

Who knew my dog had so much hair. I have a dachshund who sheds like nobody's business. I have tried several other brushes, and they remove dog hair, but I was never very satisfied with the amount of hair it took off. Well... I got this after seeing it used on a horse, and someone said that you could use it on a dog too. I got the smallest size and as soon as it arrived, I used it. I cannot believe the amount of hair that it removed... I was positive she would be bald after brushing her... but her coat looks so shiny and soft... the more I have used it, the less hair it has removed, which I expect since it is only removing the loose hair. But I love it... I also used it on my cat and I could not believe the amount of fur it took off. Both animals do not mind being brushed with it, although the cat does seem to enjoy it more. 5-star product!

OMG, this is the best de-shedding brush I have purchased. I have tried many varieties over the past few years with minimal success. My dog is white and short-haired. Come winter and summer, this dude sheds a second dog's worth of hair all over the house. You pet him, and instantly, there is a pile of hair. After watching a video of this on Tik Tok I had to try it and I am so glad I did.It works amazingly. I was able to get so much hair off of him, pulling from the undercoat as well. I wish I had been a little more prepared (like not wearing black leggings to de-shed a white dog), but it makes for a great photo. The photo isn't even all of the hair I was able to get off because it was windy, and the hair went all over the place.The only thing to know is that it feels super sharp - I would definitely cut myself on it if I went too fast or pushed too hard. I am very careful when I use this on my dog. He is short-haired and a big wuss, so I just need to make sure I am not pressing too hard and go slowly.

I got it and was disappointed by the simplicity of it compared to the cost. It’s basically a fine tooth band saw or jigsaw blade put in a piece of wood…..but it works! I took a star off because I do think they are a little overpriced for what it is. Also, because it’s basically a saw blade you must be careful to use it correctly when brushing or there is a potential to hurt the pet.

So ridiculously simple and it works perfectly. My cats absolutely love it (probably feels like a giant cat tongue) and will not leave me alone when I have it in my hand, which makes using it very easy. It gently but positively pulls out an unbelievable amount of fur which leaves their coats very smooth to the touch and undoubtedly more comfortable for them. I’d consider this a must-have for anyone with a cat.At first glance it appears to just be a section of serrated blade (think Saran Wrap cutter) in a simple wooden handle…and that’s because that’s what it is. But I assure you you’d spend at least as much on iterations to put something together that works as well as this (not to mention your time), and someone has already done that here. Just buy it.
