Favorite Zinc Sunscreen
I am torn on five stars. For me, I would give it 5 all the way down, but it was a long road to get there. I have sensitive skin, sensitive eyes, and am on full skin cancer watch ever since I had four incidents in a row. All meaning my sensy little face can only handle a long list of requests: fragrance free, zinc only, moisturizing, and able to reapply without pilling. ENTER COTZ! After trying so many zinc sunscreens, from Aveeno to Supergoop to EltaMD to Coola to No Ad to Sun Bum, etc... this is the ONLY (face) sunscreen that doesnt burn my eyes or pill or dry my skin out.. It works for me beautifully and the tint is almost invisible but leaves my skin looking dewy AF.This all comes with a couple caveats. Sticky!!! My first week was a big struggle; touching my face would leave my fingers tacky but that meant I couldn't touch my face (win win!). Leading me to.... absorption. If I put this on too close to leaving the house, I can guarantee I'll get a little city dirt or even a gnat stuck to my face! Seriously, it's gotta sit on you for at least 30 minutes. Next was staining, I had to learn to put this on last and ONLY my face or it would stain any top I had on no matter the color. You MUST double cleanse with an oil (I use plain jojoba) and follow up with a water based cleanser (inkey list salicilic acid cleanser) to wash all that stuff off. No matter what sunscreen you use, you should double cleanse anyway. Anyhoo, all that being said, it's my favorite thing in the world. I'm on bottle #8 and see no end in sight. Even the most expensive zinc sunscreens still left my eyes burning for hours, this goes literally on my eyelids. I can reapply on top of it easy. I have people on the street complimenting my skin glowiness. I can understand not wanting to go through all that rigamarole to protect your face but if you are like me looking for something that works juuuuust right? This might be the one for you. I find a bottle lasts me one month, a fair price to pay for protection, moisture, and a nice tint.Overall I would recommend this under my specific circumstances or if you need that extra moisture and like a dewy look.

The best tinted mineral sunscreen on the market
I have been using this product for ~ 4 years. In my opinion, this is the best mineral tinted sunscreen on the market. This product comes in two shades to cover a wide range of skin tones. It is unscented, hydrating, contains 20% zinc oxide, great for sensitive skin, acne prone skin, reef friendly, cruelty free, works well under makeup and can be worn as a makeup no makeup skin tint with SPF 50. This product checks all of my boxes.

great facial sunscreen
i like that it is tinted, and that it uses titanium and zinc oxide to reflect sun rays away.

Moisturizing base
This is a very moisturizing sunscreen that is good for pale skin in winter. It doesn’t look good on its own but I’ll keep using it as a base in winter.Pros: moisturizingNo cast on pale skin.Tinted to counter visible light.Works well under other layers, such as makeup. High spf and presumed UVA protection due to high zinc content. No sting!Price is rightCons: extreme shine that never fully dies down and enhances pores. No cosmetic coverage. For reference I have fair neutral toned skin that is dry in winter, sensitive and prone to melasma. I was hoping to find a high SPF + high UVA protection tinted sunscreen as an all in one. This doesn’t work for that, but I use this and then a layer of Elta MD physical tinted sunscreen plus concealer for cosmetic coverage. In summer I may try a layer of Cotz tinted primer over this to cut the shine and for cosmetic coverage. The tinted primer is too dark when applied as a sunscreen (2 full layers to equal at least 1/4 teaspoon) but 1 layer may work for those of us who are pale. This tinted spf moisturizer is very sheer even when applied in the correct amount, so while it doesn’t look good alone it can be a good base layer as long as you aren’t oily. Finally - thanks to Cotz for providing affordable high protection and at least starting to get a couple shades, but we need more! Give us coverage with lighter shades and darker shades!

Very emollient, but oxidates
I was quite disappointed with it. Great base for my dry skin but the most fair color oxidates to orange shortly after application.

Feels great
It is a great sunscreen and works well on very fair skin—-it feels great—light and not greasy—love it but getting harder to find! Ulta used to carry

The Best!
I’ve always hated using sunscreen and especially on my face. But my dermatologist insisted so I tried a bunch of different ones and in my opinion this is the absolute best. It has actually improved my skin to the point where I don’t need to wear foundation anymore. Woo hoo! Some say this sunscreen is too greasy. I don’t find it greasy but it does leave a glow and it does help cream blush go on evenly. Which to me is a benefit. I also put it in my neck and décolleté and I try to avoid getting it on my clothes because it could stain them.

GAME CHANGER for dry skin!!!!
Is it possible to be this excited about sunblock?! I just HAD to write a review for this sunblock because I want more people to know about how amazing this product is! I’ve tried Supergoop and multiple other brands but nothing has compared to Cotz. Love that it’s a mineral sunscreen and you don’t look like a ghost after applying. I have ultra dry skin and this is exactly what my skin needs. It would likely be considered oily for those who don’t have dry skin though. The only downside is this product will stain clothes, so be careful!
