usb3 upgrade cable for seagate freeagent goflex
The seagate freeagent goflex 1tb external hdd is equiped with usb2.What a shame that it doesn't come with the usb3 cable in the first place since it is backwards compatiblewith usb2.You end up having a redundant usb2 cable when you spend £15 to upgrade to usb3

It all fit well but hen I connected it to my computer I found hard drive faulty so cannot realy review cable because of this

Fast
The GoFlex portable drives are great and this makes them faster, if you have USB 3. If not buy the USB 3 upgrade kit which is this, a USB 3 express card and a USB 2 power feed to boost the card. This cable/adapter thing is effective and cheap but feels solid with the nessacary chunky cable. And it is really fast.

Very useful feature is that the adapter can be used alone with any HDD. That's the cheapest branded USB3 HDD dock at the moment £9.99.

Super fast, but short cable!
I bought this to test out the claims that USB 3.0 is very fast. I was not disappointed. My transfer speeds increase by about 8 times (I back up around 6GB of data daily - 200 files) which I was amazed at. Also, another advantage is that because USB bandwidth is shared across all ports, this can free up a port and make other devices run faster. The only downside is that the cable length is extremely short. I have to sit the drive on top of the case, which is a shame. If you don't need a long cable and use external USB devices frequently, this is a MUST upgrade for the device!

it looks at best a refurb/used item
Bought this cable as I have GoFlex with eSATA cable and want to use it on a new computer that doesn't have an eSATA port. The cable sold was not new, it looks at best a refurb/used item. I tested the drive on in my eSata cable and port first and was working fine, then tried this "USB 3.0" cable in USB and it sent the disk in spin and it switched off. Now the disk is no longer usable with eSata either.NO GOOD
