Having been a follower of Breadtopia since almost it's inception, buying from them as well, was excited to see this Product and bought it "finally". I wasn't sure how and if it would make a difference for me as I am not the greatest at Breadmaking. Yes I do make edible loaves, and am told it's delicious, but never will taste like anything store bought. Yesterday I tried a Basic Bread Recipe that was in an old Magazine I had saved, for 2 loaves. I did add the Diastatic Malted Powder. I added 3/8 ths teaspoon for the 6 cups of Flour called for in the recipe, as well as 1/4 cup of Sourdough Starter mixed into the H20 and removing 1/4 cup of the H20. The dough went together well. Rising in my Proofer beautifully per the instructions. Baked up Higher than any other breads I have ever made. WOW yes the flavor was different more like Store bought Bread. One loaf is already gone. Each half of dough weighed out at 1.70 on the scale. More than a 1 1/2 lb. loaf of bread. I am over the top thrilled with Breadtopia's Diastatic Malted Powder. Versatile.
I purchased this product by mistake, for a recipe that called for non-diastatic malt powder. It sat on the shelf unused. Then I discovered that you can easily convert diastatic malt to the non-diastatic version. You simply spread the malt powder on a baking sheet and heat it for five minutes at 350 degrees F to inactivate the enzymes. I'm glad I made the mistake, since now I can use it for either type of recipe. The bagels I made weren't perfect, but that was the fault of the cook, not the malt flour. They tasted great. I may need a little practice, but look forward to using this more.

Easy to use makes bagels little more chewy and delicious. Rolls come looking and tasting like professionals. If you want great bread products use this product.

No fillers!
This brand is new to me. I chose it because I don't like paying for fillers, and this one is the most lean product on the market, per their site. The purpose of DM is to increase rise, shorten rise time, and increase browning, especially for whole wheat, which tends to be pale when done, as well as lifting heavier dough like rye. Fillers, such as ADDED flours and ADDED sugars, skew the flavors, ratios and are a waste of money. I can add these myself if applicable.On the negative side, the product labeling is on the light side, making one wonder why.

Breadtopia Organic Diastatic Malt Powder 8 oz.
Excellent product. It has no discernible flavor. I used 1/2 teaspoon malt powder for every 3 cups flour. It made my cinnamon rolls rise so nicely and the second rise was big too! AND it cuts the rising time. My yeast bread goods look like they came from a bakery. I've bought diastatic malt directly from Breadtopia in the past, but this time I snagged it on Amazon which was very convenient for me. I highly recommend this product and this company overall. They've great products for bread makers.

Satisfied
I regularly bake bread in my bread maker. My recipe uses 2 teaspoons of yeast, and I add one teaspoon of this product. I do see an improved result in the quality of my bread. I keep it in the freezer along with my yeast and flour. Supposedly, this is the secret of professional bread makers. I believe it because my experience has been positive.
