Ingenious pliers, that do more than extract stubborn screws!
Hey tool fans! Are you looking for a simple, no-nonsense means to remove frozen/stubborn screws from computers, cars, motorcycles, machinery, appliances, or anything fastened with screws? Give the ENGINEER PZ-58 screw removing pliers a shot! You will NOT be disappointed. Curious? Read on, friends...Stuck, rusted, cross-threaded, or just plain stubborn screws are no longer something to dread. Use these pliers once, and you'll look forward to stuck screws! These aren't a "miracle" tool, just be aware that they will not work on hardened screws, so if you've got some of those infamously soft screws in your electronics (think of those butter-soft gold colored Philips screws that round out/cam out if you even think about taking a screwdriver to them), break out your PZ-58's and zip those suckers right out effortlessly. I'd say the pliers will grip screws up to maybe a grade 5 hardness, and get the job done. Something like a grade 8, and you'll just destroy the unique serrations on your pliers.I have used these pliers about a dozen times since receiving them, on various screws, and small bolts. They are a much faster, and cleaner option than using an EZ-Out, or a reverse toothed screw extractor. They're cleaner and faster than grinding a notch in the head of a screw, and bearing down on the screw with a larger screwdriver. Way faster and easier than drilling out a screw, or using a reverse drill bit (I'm old enough to remember those little beauties). If you buy a pair of these pliers, do yourself a favor, and purchase the matching cover. Since these handy little pliers (YES, there is more than one size, for larger screws!) are spring loaded, they are open in the resting position. The cover will hold them closed, so they tuck into your pocket, tool pouch, box, or bag much more neatly. Plus, the cover matches the handles...Let's just say that if you like the "Transformers" look, the cover really completes the look; like they will transform into the ENGINEER mascot, "Urus" the screw eating space dinosaur. NICE.They've earned a spot in my go-to tool rotation. They work amazingly well as a general purpose pair of gripping pliers, not just screw removal. Plus, they are beautifully machined and crafted, just like other ENGINEER tools. Quality, efficiency, value, and craftsmanship. Things that mechanically inclined people truly appreciate!

Good tool to have on hand
Great for stuck screws or security screws that are “permanent” I used to them removed a deadbolt that had security screws on it.

Excellent, but buy the cap to keep them closed
Very precise machine work on these. They grip very well and function smoothly with no play in the handles. The grips are comfortable. The spring that keeps them open is pretty strong, so I advise getting the separate cap they sell to keep them closed for in the toolbox or bag, unless you don't mind using rubber bands or something similar to keep tem closed when storing. They take up too much real-estate if you don't. I've bought 7 pair of the Neji-saurus pliers and haven't been disappointed with any of them. Durability should not be an issue. Japanese tool steel quality is right up there with German and US tool steel. They're not something that will be used all the time, but they can save your butt when you've done everything just short of drilling for an extractor. And if you have to drill, you could wind up needing to tap for new threads altogether. A tool like this just might save a person from having to get into that extra mess.

Absolutley amazing
I initially bought the PZ-59 for a "just in case" since I've often used pliers with much struggle, and busting out the Dremel to make a slit is annoying. I don't like "drill bit screw extractors".PZ-59 success, which led to more purchases without hesitation:I needed to replace a poorly-installed door striker plate, and one screw was horribly stripped by the installer.I reversed it out just enough until it fully stripped.I struggled to get a good grip with vice grips.I cut a slit (my go-to!) with a dremel for a flathead...so much torque was necessary (on a #8 or #9 screw) that the screw head split, which was a new one for me. At least now I just cut it off with the dremel and got the striker plate off.So I cut the screw down flush with the door jamb and just put the new plate over it. I always wanted to remove it though.Months later, I got the PZ-59, removed the striker plate, and gave it a shot for fun.The screw was cut nearly flush, yet I still got a very slight grip on it with the PZ-59, and I remember applying much less effort because it grabbed on much more surface area than vice grips.I backed it out with ease, so excitedly, that I called my sister over to try and experience it!PZ-57 success:This is absolutely awesome. A couple of tiny screws (M2x3 size with a head thickness defintely less than 1mm) on a used laptop motherboard were stuck and I couldn't get them out.The PZ-59 was too large, and I didn't have much hope, but I bought PZ-57 anyway despite it being "too small" of a set for the diameter of the screw head, and I bought the PZ-58 as another "just in case" if it was too small. The PZ-57 easily gripped and got the screws turning ridiculously easy compared to all the forceful pressure I applied with the screw driver, and I was NOT wanting to cut a slit with my dremel.I don't need the PZ-58 at the moment, but I'm keeping it because the PZ-59 and PZ-57 are so ridiculously excellent. I'm sure I'll have a use and next time I won't need to order and wait for it.Buy it and try it. These are the right tool for the job!
