Craftsman air compressor replacement regulator
Easy to install, just be sure you note how you remove the old regulator and pressure guages, and add new regulator using reverse steps. You will probably have to remove the old regulator adjustment knob to get the entire device off, and likewise when placing the new regulator onto the compressor.New regulator works great! No leaks. Good value.

Works as expected
I have a older model Craftsman air compressor wuth a leaking regulator. The original part was NLA. This part was a near perfect replacement. The only issue was the plastic cover didn’t fit over the opening. I had to increase the diameter of the hole about 1/16" and it fits fine. No more leaks. Expect many years of use.

Works good
Works good but as others have said it’s not the same as the original craftsman it’s taller and bigger around had to disassemble it to screw it on and die grind the cover hole for it to fit. Other than that it works great and is so much smoother than the old leaky one.

PERFECT fix for my old 1996 Craftsman Model 919.152940. Fixed an annoying leak !
I have been having an air leak on my air compressor for a couple of years, which I finally figured out was the "air pressure regulator". Very aggravating problem - the compressor was always out of air whenever I needed it. The part needed, which was was originally Craftsman #AC-0007, was of course, "No Longer Available". After a little research, I settled on this substitute and took a chance. Well, my 1996 Craftsman 25 gal / 5 hp Model 919.152940 liked it. Just remove the old gauges and air regulator, then replace with this one and problem solved.NOTE: You will have to remove the upper black plastic portion of the new regulator (careful, it's plastic, and it takes a big wrench or channel locks). Once that is removed, install the remaining lower metal portion (the arrow on the bottom of this part indicates air flow direction). Now, "tighten" this part well, and get it in place and level, being careful not to scar any of the inlets. Once done, re-install your gauges, as original, and "tighten" them. The last fitting is your air outlet where you air hose connects. Screw this fitting into the regulator and likewise, "tighten" it. I emphasize "tighten" on all of these fittings. Should you be lax here, you will eventually have to remove each part and start all over again. If everything is tight and in place, now put the upper (black portion) of the regulator back in place and "tighten" it, making sure that the large O-ring is in place. This basically completes the repair and is a good time for an air check. Fill compressor tank and check these fittings with a spray of soapy water. If all is good and no leaks. Proceed !The next thing is your black plastic shroud, that you originally removed to get to all these fittings. It will NOT fit back onto the new regulator without some minor modification. The new knob (the black portion) will not quit fit through the original hole in the shroud. Don't panic. Two options: Use your compressor without the shroud (no problem, other than cosmetic), OR, increase the size of the hole in the shroud until it will once again fit. I was able to open mine up by carefully rounding (cutting) out the hole, a little at a time, with an X-act-O knife (do not oversize the hole). Once you have a snug fit, put the shroud back in place and replace the new retaining ring that came with the new regulator....Voila - done and done ! PERFECTAnd for all those nay-sayers............everything doesn't just screw off and screw on.......THINK it out !

It was just like the original
My old regulator valve started leaking and this replacement was exactly like the original and even fit the faceplate cover around the gauges. Works great.

Nice replacement
Item works great. Good quality and works fine. Knob much easier to turn than original part but seems to adjust pressure slower as well. Only issue was know was a bit thicker than original but easy fix by removing the cap and taking it apart to install then simple assembly. Directions online how to do it.

Works with my Craftsman 2HP model 919.162121 compressor
Works well. After using a wrench to carefully unscrew my hose and the two pressure guages, I had to remove the black handle of the old regulator for clearance to unscrew the old regulator base from the inlet pipe which I left in the compressor. It took a lot of "ooomph" to get that connection to loosen. Glad I had a big plumbing pipe wrench to help. I also had to remove the black handle and O-ring from the new regulator for clearance. After wrapping new teflon tape around all of the male threaded part connections, I installed the new regulator by reversing the removal procedure. After reinstalling the black handle and O-ring to the regulator, I cranked up the comrpessor, and the replacement regulator works as expected.

Is NOT an exact match for a Craftsman compressor
When I first received the regulator I looked at it an made sure the 4 inlet, outlet, and two gauge ports were correct. I didn't think to check the actual size of the regulator as it looked very similar to the original. I finally got time to install the new regulator yesterday and it was about 3/4" longer than the original so it would not let me just spin it on the 1/4" pipe the way I was able to spin off the old one. So, I either had to disassemble all the existing piping or get a 1/4" union. I ran to the local hardware store and purchased a 1/4" union for $5.69. I installed the regulator, but then when I tried to put the plastic cover back on the diameter of the mounting threads were about a 1/4" bigger in diameter than the hole in the cover. Now I'll need a hole saw to cut out the cover to be able to reinstall it. I am not happy with this vendor because I was led to believe it was a direct replacement and it was not. So far it did work, in regard to regulating the air pressure.
