Good for the price.
First off a couple of things that aren't a deal breaker for me, but a potential buyer should know. The holster you'll be getting isn't exactly as pictured. Two belt slots not three, and no adjustment screw. Now let me get to the meat of this product. Unless you are willing to pay almost double for a custom holster this one will suit your needs. The Governor is an odd shaped handgun to say the least but this DeSantis fits it well with good retention. Reholstering quickly is going to be an issue due to some strange flaps at the top. It's almost like they wanted to put a snap retainer on and backed out at the last minute. Just do a double check or do some home surgery on it and you should be fine. For such a hulking revolver this holster allows me to carry my Governor concealed, with the proper clothing and belt. It really does a nice job of keeping it high and tight and the weight is pretty much a non issue. Granted I'm a revolver kind of guy and prefer a piece of metal rather than a polymer framed gun. In all likelihood I will be buying a custom rig for this particular firearm down the road, but for now this holster seems to fit my needs.

Great for the Governor
Initially, the holster was surprising as it LOOKED supple. It is a bit on the stuff side but it is molded for the Governor and does a fantastic job carrying the firearm up and out of the way. Comfortable to wear working, climbing on and off tractor and mower. Very pleased with purchase and the company.

No Issues Here
The holster is breaking in quickly due to the nice molding of the leather to the gun during the making process. I saw a previous review said to cut off the "wierd excess tabs at the top". You could do that and still have a nice holster, OR you could leave them in place and use them for easy one handed reholstering. If you were to carry this concealled, you might want to also invest in a hogue bantam grip to loose some length off of the factory grip. The only further observation would be to use 45 colt or 45 acp, instead of 410 shells in public. You can pin point where 1 slug is headed when it leaves the barrel, but it might be difficult to control all those pellets from a shot gun shell if target discrimination were ever needed.

It ate my S&W Governor and wouldn't let go.
Experience:I've made my own leather holsters and hats, I understand leather.Carrying for almost 15 years with a mix of holsters and large full size firearms. Before you say it, Yes I left the gun half inserted into the holster for 24 hours to help stretch the leather and it didn't make a difference. This holster is SO tight, I had to use both hands to jam the gun into the holster, and both hands rocking and pulling to try and release the gun from the holster. It took about 30 seconds of using all my strength (I'm not a total wimp, must have used at least 40-50lbs of force) to pry the firearm from this thing. To make it worse, I put the holster on my belt. In order for my holster to be placed properly, I have to cinch up my belt just a little snug, to keep the gun up. I mean, you can't sag your pants when wearing a holster with a large firearm right? it has to be comfortably snug to keep it from flopping around. In doing so, the way the holster belt loops are designed, when you put this on your belt it bends the leather and actually increases the retention of the gun because it's stretching the leather points further out.100% impossible to remove my gun from this holster while wearing it, even with both hands. Perhaps with more time it would have worked it way loose, but between that and the extra flaps of leather that are used to funnel/guide the gun into the holster my skin was getting raw just from a few hours of wearing it.

Decent leather holster for the price...but be aware, the description says black and that's what you'll get.
The picture shows tan but the description says black...the one I got was black, as expected. I read many reviews that said theirs was much too tight...mine was perfect right from the box and slid in and out nicely with a little resistance. However, when placed on my side, and my belt cinched up tight, the gun was difficult to remove. I will do a little stretching and think it'll be fine. I have a S&W Governor and I think the fit is pretty good for this price range. It's not the highest quality leather, but it's fine for the price. (For those who need to stretch their holster...dampen [not dripping] a few paper towels, place a few inside the holster and wrap the others around holster. Place in microwave 20-30 seconds until towels are warm to the touch...let sit for minute, then wrap gun in freezer paper, slippery side out, and jam gun in holster all the way. It should be fine the next morning). I would buy again.

I like it!
Fits the Governor perfectly. Very snug fit to start as it should be. It needs to streach a bit to for the gun to fit properly. Put a sock over the Governor and inserted back into holster for 24 hours. Also used Galco DRAW-EZ to condition the interior leather for a much smoother draw.
