Porsche in a VM body
Bought mine May 2018 - use it every day.Bought from Amazon for $263 - will pay today for $500The best LaserJet B/W printer for the money. No problems yet - over 250,000 copies, scan. Some users report printer will not scan full duplex.Thats like saying my VW bug is nice but will not go 2000mphIt was never designed to.Suggest they spend another $300 to do FD with scannerHave seen many iterations of software, these are the best:1) HP SMART is the best (available for Iphone & PC).2) HP PRINT & SCAN DOCTORPROS:40+ ppmfull duplex printiingCONS:Problem: I experienced Connectivity Wireless issuesSolution: moved router closer to printer.Solution: Printer would drop connection after an hour of inactivity (sleep)Problems setting up SCAN TO FOLDER & SCAN TO EMAILSolution: Provided documentation are poor - watch youtube videosProblem: Tech Support charges you to solve issuesSolution: tech support available free to warranty owners only

A dream come true
I solemnly that I am not receiving any sort of benefit from this review...I just really love this printer. Just now I printed concert tickets wirelessly from my iPhone and it made me really happy. It also reminded me to write this review! Here are the features I like/use the most for my home business (and a little bit of personal use):-easily scanning receipts wirelessly but directly to my receipts folder for my small business bookkeeping (the ADF is fantastic!)-wirelessly printing super quickly from my MacBook Pro when I'm working in the next room-making copies quickly and easily for my piano students-double-sided printing-power-saving mode where it sleeps most of the time but turns on really quickly when I need it to print/scan/copySome small difficulties I've had with the copy function are that the little touch panel gets in the way sometimes when I'm trying to copy a large book, and if I don't hold the music very closely to the glass, part of the copy comes out blurry. But it's a small price to pay for the speed and efficiency I get from this machine. The only trouble I had with printing was at the beginning-the first few times I tried to print wirelessly, the computer wasn't communicating with the printer and it wasn't saving my wifi password for some reason. But I just kept entering the password (using the help function through the printer help site in safari) and eventually it just started working and hasn't stopped since. Before I had a Canon printer/scanner/copier, the Pixma MG8120B. It was extremely slow to print and make copies, or even turn on. Sometimes it literally took about 2 minutes just to wake up from hibernation mode or copy one page. When you have piano students who only have 30 minute lessons (and start exploring your house if you disappear into the office for a long time), every minute counts!!!

fast and good quality printing
HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdwPROS: fast and good quality printing, scanning and faxing, low priceCONS: not fully compatible with Windows 10We've been using this for about 3 weeks and all is going well. We use it for printing letter size documents and envelopes. We also use it for faxing. We don't use it for scanning, but did set that up and tested it and it works well. Our previous machine was also an HP MFP and it served us well for about 8 years. I have high hopes this HP will also work well for a long time. The first unit we received from AMAZON had a very loud squeak whenever we ran documents through the ADF. I contacted HP for support and they offered to send a refurbished unit for no charge. The replacement unit came in about two days and I just used the same box to pack up the defective one and ship it back. HP even paid for the shipping. KUDOS to HP for their support.Note for Windows 10 users: This machine was apparently meant to go with Windows 7. It is compatible with Windows 10, but with some limitations. The software that is installed with the included CD (or downloaded from HPs website) will not completely install. That means there are some applications that Windows 7 users can use to configure the fax which will not be available on Windows 10. This is not a disaster as you can configure the fax from the control panel on the printer. The machine also has a website inside itself that allows you to set up the scanner. Do yourself a favor and go the HPs website and download the user manual before you begin to set it up - you'll find that very helpful.update 11/16/2016 - I just tried two sided printing and at first it wanted me to do it manually (print one side and then you re-insert paper and print the other side). Luckily, I found it was just a setting that you have to change to turn on the automatic two sided printing. In Control Panel>Devices and printers, select printer properties>Device Settings - select "Installed" for Duplex unit.
