I Can Barely See Straight Anymore...
I bought this to make a THC tincture. It might work too well! Not wanting to wait 6 weeks to try a tincture, I bought the smaller version of the Ongrok. It is loud and annoying when running. It's not super easy to clean. And I know damn good and well that I am going to slice my fingers open on those serrated blades at some point in time. Who cares?!?The efficiency of edibles (when properly prepared) is outstanding. And it can really cheapen up the old weed bill. Once I started reading the studies and doing the math on just how many milligrams of THC one needs to set on fire just to get the smallest dose into their lungs I was dumbfounded. This is gonna sound stupid but the way the math works out if one smokes THC 40-60% of all the THC is just lost to the heat of the flame. Something like 40-70% of the remaining THC that makes its way into one's lungs is sent back into the atmosphere when the person exhales. Of the 30-60% of the THC that survived the fire and actually found its way into your body, your body will only be able to make use of 23-27% of that amount for daily users, while casual users and first timers can get up to 33%So...Say a person packs 100mg into a bowl, they can realistically expect to actually get 40mg of THC into their lungs and that puts 12-24mg actually inside their body, and then through the metabolic process somewhere between 2.76 and 7.92mg of THC end up being psychoactively available depending on their metabolism. (Anybody care to guess why state after state after state adopts between 5-10mg as a "therapeutic dose"?)On the other hand, if that same 100mg of THC is decarbed and processed into an edible, there is no loss of potency as there is when a bowl is lit. So the only math that needs to be considered is whether or not the person is a daily consumer. Digestion isn't a perfect process, so it becomes impossible to predict EXACTLY how many milligrams make into the blood stream, but it should be over 80%. So at least 80mg. Then, for a daily consumer 18-24mg is a reasonable expectation, and up to 27mg for the casual user.THAT is why this machine is outstanding!!! It doesn't matter if you are a casual user or a hardcore user, it really stretches just how far an ounce can take you. And who doesn't want to go further for less money? Personally, I like the tincture as a happy medium. Faster to kick in than a brownie, but not as long lasting as a brownie. I put like 15-20mg in about 4 ounces of Kool-Aid and drink it. About 25-35 minutes later, there is a few seconds where a wave just washes over my brain. After that point, if I start bending notes on my synth, I can almost make the walls melt!!!I have NEVER had an encounter with THC that made me feel like I was on LSD until I bought this machine and made my first tincture. And I've been a dedicated stoner since circa 1983. I always laughed when someone would put weed in the hallucinogen category. Not anymore.Every stoner needs this machine (and a decarboxylator) in their kitchen, and I suspect that a great many non-stoners could use this machine to make all kinds of flavored oils and other things. To be fair though, I wouldn't use it that way. The serrated blades mean that whatever carrier oil you use WILL have significant plant material within it. When I made my tincture, I put 1 ounce of weed into 16 ounces of Everclear, and filled up (5 1/2) 4 oz tincture bottles. When I was done, less than 5 grams of plant material was left as waste chunks too big to fit through a 90 micron filter.

Stop working after 3rd use. - it is better now
The infuser would allow liquid to leak out the top as there are slits in the sealing ring to allow the standoff to hols the lid off the lower container. It for the most part worked ok then...The infuser stopped working after the 3rd use. I have an email in to the company as I am outside the 30 day return period. I do not have much hope. But will update if anything works out.So its been a couple of days and the infuser seems to be working like it should. I assume moisture must have gotten into the top. Nothing was ever submerged. I guess it is not sealed very well.I'll keep everyone updatedUpdate the company replied very quickly. Great costumer service.

Useful for natural infused oils.
I read several reviews on infusions and settle on this item. I grow herbs and make slaves for personal use. I am thinking it would speed up the oils process. I have not used it yet. It does come with a recipe book.
