Q: Is it induction compatible?

YES, this pan works great on my induction cook top! I love it, needed a taller pan for making fudge and use it for frying chicken in too. Great quality heavy pan, not the cheap lightweight you find in stores these days.

Q: Just how heavy are these pans? Please, can someone weigh the pan(s)? Would they be difficult for Mom with arthritis to lift?

Pan is very heavy. I love the pan but my husband has to help me with it frequently. As a result of carpal tunnel problems I don't have the strength in my wrists to handle it.

Q: A 10-quart pot with a single handle? How on earth do you lift the thing when it's full? This looks like a disaster begging to happen.

I've never had any difficulty handling it. I use a pot holder for extra leverage, but it's not a heavy pot.

Q: What grade of stainless steel is this 4.5 Q saucepan and is it induction compatible?

The main body of the pot is a non-magnetic stainless steel which may be called "austenitic" stainless and it is commonly known as "300 series" or "18-8" grade of stainless steel. The bottom is reinforced with a thick layer of stainless steel that is magnetic and may be known as "ferritic stainless" or "400 series " stainless . It works very well with my Nuwave induction cooker.
