Good buy
Loud and seem to hold up well in my older truck. Ease to install and not a bag price.

Best non amplfied speaker option
Installed 4 of these in a 02 ford taurus, ran them off the stock factory unit and definitely a noticeable difference, then installed a kenwood head unit that produces 22 rms, for the price these are solid still need time to season them and still doing several eq adjustments as they break in, will give a final edit later but so far pretty solid sound quality and volume for the price, I would never recommend these to anyone running a real 4 channel amp but for stock replacement with factory head unit or someone planning to run aftermarket head unit only these had the highest db sensitivity and lowest power handling requirement to be in the perfect range for head unit power only, the highs are a little sharp instead of low the tweeter wasn't the best design but price for value i have payed a lot more in the past and had way worse sound quality. I use to do Iasca SQ competitons so use I've heard and set up way better but not for this price range, Memphis use to have a line price point like this that out performed but they discontiuned them. but for just head unit power and low budget they exceed the price and value. If you put these on aftermarket head unit MAKE sure its one with a good solid 10+ band equalizer they take a lot of tweaking to clear out the mid-range to high range and avoid bleeding any frequency below 150 optimally 200 (it says it can handle it but the vibrations will dsitort the tweeter badly. Since stock head units generally don't produce enough RMS to even matter these play solidly on them without make tweaking. Amazing OEM replacements and really solid power range for on a head unit, I could not find a better quality speaker that didnt require twice what an aftermarket head unit can produce in order to be optimum so getting anything more expensive such as infinity kicker mb quart etc you will waste your money if you plan to run them on after market or stock head units. They will be severly under powered and will lack the proper volume to quality. I used the 6x8's for reference any other speaker size model I can't attest to but would imagine the result around the same.

Better sound than bose home theater speakers (difference is obvious)
They sound better than the bose home theater speakers. My Kenwood excelon x497 fully powers these speakers to their maximum excursion limit so you won't need an amplifier. I wish I could get all 6x9's but I had to get 6.5's in the front doors to fit. The kicker ds 6x9's are just a little more expensive than the ds 6.5's but the 6x9's sound better because of a softer treble to prevent harsh treble from making your ears ring and have deeper bass that can also get louder. If you are installing these speakers in the door you will not get good bass. The kicker ds 6.5's on my front door have muddy bass and just doesn't get loud. I got the ds 6x9s installed behind the back seat and the bass sounds deep, clear and loud if you turn it up but nothing retarded loud. I wasn't expecting these speakers to go down to 30hz but after boosting it up on the radio, it sounded like I had a subwoofer: the license plate was rattling, you can see the carpet behind the back seat vibrating, the reflection of the rear view mirror vibrates and the side view mirrors just slightly vibrate to the punch notes (but this may be because of the 6.5's installed on the doors which have more punch than the 6x9s). But this might only be because of how this car was built because I noticed that if you hit the headrest of the back seat it makes a deep boom that is kinda loud. The tweeter's do not sound as good as the ds 6.5's but you probably won't notice it when theres a lot of noise around you. The highs (like 10,000hz and up) on the ds 6.5's sound around 2 or 3 decibels boosted than the ds 6x9's. The ds 6.5's definitely have more upper midrange (around 2,000hz to 3,000hz) that I would get to be around 3 to 5 decibels louder than the 6x9's. I don't like upper mid-range from 2000 hz to 3000 hz because of many sounds being boosted around that range to sound louder. I think you can duct tape quarters to the 6.5's if you want to reduce this upper mid-range. I would duct-tape no more than 4 quarters. But you have to make sure you duct tape it securely or you will hear a rattle. I've done this trick to woofers to reduce their frequency resonance to sound like subwoofers and I do not like that upper bass louder than the lower bass. Bass should sound equally loud at all frequencies; 30hz should sound as loud as 40hz, 60hz, etc. Anything below 30hz doesn't matter. Bass above 60hz is where is should start slightly quiet down as it gets higher. These kicker ds 6x9's sound almost proportionally loud as the bass notes when they are behind the back seat.I am not sure how the ds 6.5s sound connected behind the back seats but I am certain it will not have the bass like the ds 6x9's.You will still need a subwoofer if you are installing these in the doors but if you install 6.5's or 6x9's behind the back seats then you will almost sound like you have a subwoofer if you have a radio capable of enough power and bass boosting like the kenwood excelon x497So don't expect good bass from these if you are installing them in the door. Installing them behind the back seat is a different story as I mentioned earlier. The bass will sound louder if you experiment with your windows; I found that have the both front windows all the way and the rear windows all the way up boosted the bass. But this may be different depending on your car. And you shouldn't bother the window experiment if the speakers are on the door because lower the windows will reduce the bass because of the window restricting the airflow inside the door.

Blown away, these sound so good.
Other reviews persuaded me to go ahead and get these speakers. My thoughts were they were affordable enough that even if they were 10% better than the 23 year old stock ones it’d be worth it. Newsflash, these things are 500% better, no exaggeration, probably more. No matter how loud I crank it, they take it. No distortion, popping, etc. They are clear as a bell, and sound the way I think speakers should sound. I was considering a sub to put under the seat, not now. The bass is powerful and deep. They are perfect. If they fit your ride, buy them. If not, modify your ride and BUY THEM.

Great price but sound quality is pretty bad
Can’t beat the price if you’re just replacing blown speakers. You get what you pay for though. I ended up returning because of poor sound quality.

Over all sounds good.
Good price, ok sound.

They are not as they are described
They claim to be 500w and 350w however they are no way my radio alone is 200w per speaker and they can't handle it unless my volume is low they are very distorted and scratchy
