i guess it can be trusted
looks authentic . tried using this to cook porridge today, it made my porridge flavorful.soak dried scallops in water for 2-3 h to soften before adding this to porridge.i would not trust dried scallops from china as it’s hard to differentiate the quality via website and picture ... japan scallops are the way to go

NOT FROM JAPAN
First of all. These were imported from China. They have a Chinese import sticker on it. Secondly, the labels are placed precisely over all of the “made in Japan” labels that were on the bag. Thirdly, I should have read closer but the Japanese word for scallop is Hotate or Hotategai. The label on the bag says hotagai…. And it is written in hiragana instead of katakana which is strange considering, Hotategai is usually written in kanji. Lastly, no items made in Japan would contain a nutrition label that does not have contents or wasn’t written in Japanese if it was imported. An item that is a a “product of Japan” would have a nutrition label that could be in English but has a distribution factory in the US. Usually, if imported, it would have an import label that translates into Japanese. I have purchased Japanese scallops before and this is definitely not from Japan. I have included a few example of a Japanese nutrition label of different food items so that you can have a comparison. Do not recommend this item.
