The media could not be loaded. When I received this item, I went ahead and fully charged it and then give it a try, and it lit up really fast as you can see in the video. It works extremely well and for the price that's excellent and the wind doesn't blow it out only when you let go of the button which is a built-in safety feature. Which I love about it and the cap that snaps into place as well. This item, it's built of good quality and produces some good heat. So don't touch the electricity. I just wish I would have bought the twin pack where the other had a torch.

Update 9/30/20 - Received my replacement I bought. Opened it up in the kitchen and my daughter was working in the living room. Pressed the switch to light it and she immediately yelled at me to stop. She didn't even know I bought a new one. It's uncanny, but real. Now I have one for each of my vehicles for emergencies.Update 9/19/20 - Manufacturer contacted me within hours of my email. They indicated that this noise was a result of the arc being generated and there was nothing they could do about it. They said they were very sorry and offered to refund my entire purchase price and I could keep the lighter. I asked if I could get a replacement instead, but there may have been a communication gap as they just refunded me. I plan to buy another to see if this was a one-off or if it really is a result of the arc generation. Plus I wasn’t trying to get my lighter for free; they provided a lighter that worked and started a fire as advertised. Will update after receiving the new one.O.P.- Overall I like this lighter. I just got so I can't comment on longevity of the charge or the unit itself. Please note that I don't smoke so am not going to be using this as a daily user. This is going to be kept in the console of my truck for starting fires while camping, etc.Pros:- Plasma arcs are hot. They start a paper towel on fire instantly.- I purchased the orange one, and it's arc rods are situated where the plasma flows flat, versus some of the colors where the plasma flows cross-wise. I'm sure that this statement is quite confusing. Select the different lighter colors and then look at the layout of the plasma generating rods. The pictures on amazon are true as of this writing, per the layout.- Lighter floats as advertised and kept water out.- With regard to the battery and how many uses you can get and how long it will last in storage, I can't yet comment on this. It's made in China and I'm in the US. Lets assume that it takes at least a month from manufacture to crossing the ocean to Amazon packing and shipping to arrival at my house. I didn't charge it when it arrived, and I have sparked it over 50 times since getting it. The battery appears to hold a charge for a decent amount of time.Cons:- As I described in the headline, this lighter has an amazingly quirky flaw. Apparently when turned on, it generates an extremely high-pitched squeal. The first time I tried the lighter the dog ran away from me. I just figured he was scared of the lighter itself (he's scared of his own shadow). Then in subsequent lightings, my kids both yelled across the house asking "what's that noise?" I have lost a lot of my hearing over the years, so I can't hear it. I thought they were messing with me, so we ran a test. I sent them across the house (2 rooms over and probably 30+ feet away) and had them yell every time I lit the lighter. They got it right 100% of the time. Doesn't bother me as I can't hear it and it's only for very infrequent use. Just thought I'd throw this out there to anyone this may affect.I do plan to contact the manufacturer about the high-pitched noise and see if this is a flaw in mine or it happens in all of them. If I get a response, I'll update this review. Same with the battery life/longevity. So far so good.I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. This is an amazing devise abd a good product. Before I purchasing,(1) I was in doubt that how this little piece stuff would work?(2) I did not believe this small ligher could perform multiple tasks?But after receiving this cute lighter, I found out that this little lighter really does perform the multiple tasks and fearures - such as lighting, torching, igniting, flashing, signaling, indicating and electro-arcing as it says.In other words -The seller's Product Information are correct and accurate.It is very handy, robust and reliable device. It can be recharged easily by connecting to a computer USB port.Besides,It is also made of quality materials.GOOD STUFF. I like this lighter, you will like it too.

Very lightweight and texture on it makes it grip good in your hand. The charge last a while and also very quick to charge. The cap helps prevent it from getting wet and dirty. The heat from this is really hot so do not touch. Very easy to use.

Great for everyday use all it needs it charge and works for hrs. Love that it has a security close also love the iDesign
