Easy and efficient
To get the results it felt like it took FOREVER but it really wasn't. We were just excited to know exactly what our new puppy was. We had our suspicions that he was A LOT of Shepherd. We were RIGHT. He's 44% Doberman, 31% German Shepherd, 14% Greyhound (which was VERY surprising to us) and 11% Malinois. This was fun to do and our kids loved the anticipation of waiting for the results. Our boy gave us a hard time about getting his cheek-swab, but we got it (easier than we thought we would honestly). We would buy this again. Fast, safe, effective, accurate.

DO NOT BUY! Complete scam
This will be my second review as the company had amazon delete my first review as they apparently didnt want my information to be see. Publicly. Pictured is my dog I had tested. This dog barey weighs 30lbs and is primarily a decker terrier, however we as a family wanted to see if she had any mixes in her and just overall get more info on our adopted pup. Again we already know she is primarily decker terrier, she has the exact size, coloring, eyes, ears. Tail and also the distinct traits deckers have such as forehead wrinkles. Upward swept tail, etc etc. My test was done perfectly, no other dogs in our house so contamination is impossible. We sent the results in the day after Christmas and it took a month exactly to get results. This is where it was very frustrating. We got the results back and like several others have said, they were so far off from our dog it is a physical impossibility that our dog is a mix of any of the breeds listed. Our 30lbs known decker rat terrier came back with 3 breeds, the first two were Lab and Boxer and a mixture of 40-60% each or level 2 on their test meaning she is basically half if each. Both these dog breeds are not only way bigger than what she is in height and weight but have distinct traits that our dog does not have such as boxers short snout and face with a blocky head, long legs, etc. The third breed comes back the only terrier breed found and listed as a trace amount of less than 10%. Oh ok well at least they came up with a terrier right? WRONG! The terrier breed listed was an American Staffordshire Terrier, a 50-80lbs massive dog with a pitbull like head and very thick body. Every single dog listed is over 50lbs, if she was any mixture of those 3 she wouldnt look anything like she does. And would weigh about double what she does.Moving forward I contacted the company through email in which they were prompt to respond initially. I purposely left out the picture on my test as to not skew results after reading the company may do this. In my email to them I supplied the same picture on this review after going back and a few emails regarding the results. The company claimed there is no refunds and the test is accurate. That was until they saw the picture of my Boxer/Lab/Staffordshire mix they claimed. Thats when emails stopped, they havent discussed or responded to my email since asking for a retest to prove the results. Why is this? Because they know their test is a scam, and couldnt possibly come up with those breeds for the dog listed. I would even buy another test if I knew Id be refunded for the false test, but to no avail they stand by their results that my 30lbs decker rat terrier is a Boxer Lab mix. Keep in mind no where on the results were the actual known breed she is, but DNAmydog doesnt care about papers, parent bloodlines or anything, their sham tests trump all the known history of a dog, not to mention common sense. I would question all the results from their lab, especially if you submitted pictures previous to results. Hopefully Amazon lets this review stand and stops supporting companies that are taking money for a product that is obviously not real.PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID AND NOT LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Boxer?! HUH!!? No lab at all!?
So... I found a dog on the side of the highway. She appeared to be a lab mix, maybe golden, a bit of shepherd or husky tossed in... This is what the vet said when we took her to the vet for first shots etc, and scheduled a spay for 2 weeks later. At the spay appt, we found out she was having puppies! 6 or 7 of them. My vet looked at me and asked what was I going to do? I was like, well, what can I do!? I guess I'm having puppies. She laughed, told me I'm a saint, and proceeded to turn me in the direction of information since I'd never had a dog that wasn't spayed, therefore, no exposure to raising pups. I was clueless. Fast forward 2 months, 7 CRAZY puppies later! They were crazy and sweet, and as much as we loved them, we loved to see them go! The odd thing was all 7 puppies were different. There were two that looked like shepherds when born, but turn out to look like hounds, or rottweilers as they got a bit older. One looked like a full blood golden. Another looked more like an otter than a dog. I decided to do a DNA test on the mom (the dog we kept) and see what she was. Level 3 BOXER and German Shepherd?? Level 4 Siberian Husky and Corgi?! Say what!? Level 5 American Eskimo and Brittany?! Pure craziness! But then, looking at a couple of the pups, I totally see the Boxer now. And, looking at the mom, she's like the Mr. Potato Head of all these breeds, and, it's obvious! After having the pups, her already thin frame became scary thin while nursing. Then, as they were weaned, she's got the super compact strong body of a boxer. She's got the eyes and fur of the corgi, and the snout and ears of the Brittany. She's got the undercoat/tail of the shepherd and husky and gaze. She's got the stance and feathering of the Eskimo and corgi. She's a brilliant dog. Super intelligent, and very high energy, but extremely loving and devoted. She's a mix of many of the dog breeds my son wanted, and I told him no because I didn't like them (shedding/big/protective/high energy etc.) But, yet, as she is, she's perfect. I do think by raising 7 pups for a stray we found weeks before giving birth I've secured my place in heaven (I had no idea how hard that would be!!! Spay and neuter your pets!!!) but I got lucky I found this dog in a lab mix costume (no lab at all!!) and gave her a chance without prejudice. I told the adopters I was doing a DNA test, so... If any of you reading this are part of the Snipe family, this is the kit I ordered! Those Snipes are limited edition, as Snipe got spayed on the 15th of May :)As far as the process and such, it couldn't have been easier! Cheek swab when the dog has been away from others and shared toys/bowls/etc for a few hours and send it in. Keep the little code you're given in your packet, and check the results online. A few days after your results are available on line, you get a little packet in the mail with your certificate and a very brief summary of the breeds identified in your pet. I totally recommend this kit.

Great Company
I've used DNA My Dog twice for 2 different dogs. Both are rescues with unknown parentage. I did not send a photo either time. The first time the results came in about 3 weeks; the 2nd time they arrived in 2 weeks. Both were mixes of breeds you can easily see in my dogs. The 2nd dog is red with a black saddle & loves to follow scent trails. She is part bloodhound, part beagle & has the longer ears. She looks & acts like the breeds she came back as. I will eventually use this same company again for another dog whose breed is known. Their tests are lower priced than all of the other brands i searched. They also quickly added a photo after the fact when I sent one. I'm very satisfied with the accuracy, speed and price of these tests and can recommend them without reservation.
