Works quick, but NOBODY WARNED ME (SAD)
(Warning is at bottom)Not sure why some people are having the opposite experience, but this stuff works. I have bought it twice a few months apart. The first time was for rats that had found a way into my attic thru my crawlspace (which I'd thought I'd blocked them out of!). I put some up there every day, about 4 to 5 blocks, and they disappeared Day 1 and Day 2. The rats were running around up there having the time of their lives, they loved it and devoured it. Day 3 there were fewer eaten. Day 4 or maybe 5, this is the sad part, I heard what sounded like whimpering in my attic. It sounded very much like a puppy crying (I thought it was coming from outside at first!). I'm pretty sure it was the rat that was eating up all those blocks. Then, my house was silent. Unfortunately a few days later I heard another one make its way into the attic, probably following the pheromones from the previous one. I did the same thing and that one disappeared, no crying fortunately. No smell either, I think they both went outside to die somewhere. I blocked up what I thought were the entrances and I didn't have any noticeable problems for a few months.Recently, I had smelled the god-awful smell of rodent urine coming through my crawlspace up into my living area and I knew they made their way in again - and so, I bought these baits again. I used bait stations outside in three spots and they were disappearing steadily. Within a few days, I smelled the funk of dead animal. I knew one was dead, probably in my crawlspace. I looked around outside, couldn't find anything. A week later when that funk had FINALLY cleared, boom, dead animal funk again. And like 15+ flies in my house. Another one was dead, and this time super strong. Apparently, it found its way in a kitchen wall or just under. I saw 1 maggot on my kitchen floor the next day, so, yeah, that was traumatic. If there were more, I probably would've fainted. I have an old house w cracks and crevices, so it crawled from wherever (I shudder to think). This was maybe 3 days ago. Anyhow, I refilled the bait stations when I got home today (well, one station - the others are still full). Maybe an hour ago I heard something on the side of the house that the rats seemed to favor. It kind of sounded like wailing or heavy sighing in animal form. I can't confirm if it was a rat (maybe was a possum or raccoon because those pass by sometimes; idk if they make sounds like that, though). But I would feel really bad if it were a suffering rat. I've tried to block them out, but they just keep coming back and being more invasive, so you do what you have to do. Anyhow, no scritching heard tonight. If you have a rat issue, I would recommend these (over other brand I've tried). (1) They will definitely eat it; and (2) It will definitely kill. But if you have a soft spot in your heart, just be warned that sometimes these animals whimper and cry when they're in pain or distressed, so prepare yourself just in case.IN BRIEF: it works, but rats may make noises of distress and you may see maggots if the die in or under your home.

Buy! Great for Apartment Renters
This product works! I chose to place the individual cubes behind the stove, refrigerator, etc, and the mice infestation stopped. Be sure to wear gloves when handling this product, and cleaning after the mice feast on the product. I noticed the mice droppings were blue, so I knew this was a winner, & about 4 - 5 days, the mice infestation ceased. I will continue use a preventative, especially with living in an apartment.

Great product!
The product came at the time it was supposed to be delivered. I guess it’s toxic because I haven’t seen a mouse since I put it out so, it’s effective, durable and a great product!

Based on the odor in the house, this stuff works!
Every so often in our 100 year old pier and beam house in Dallas, we get a critter issue (OK, mice and rats, not cute little critters). We've tried traps (they didn't work). We tried one of those sound machines that aren't supposed to bother humans and dogs (oh, it was loud and we couldn't stand it). Finally, we relented and went the poison route with these JT Eaton bait blocks (peanut butter flavored, but who would know). They come in a big tub. I place them in the closet next to the hot water heater (where we often see rodent droppings). And they disappear quickly. And I replace them. And they disappear quickly again. And I replace them. Part of me wonders how long it takes these to work. Until one day we have a strong dead rodent odor wafting through a part of the house (usually the kitchen). So, they must work. Eventually the bait blocks don't go away from the closet. Eventually the smell goes away. I guess I am happy that they don't die outside so that a pet could find it and get sick. This isn't our first bucket, and probably won't be our last.

THE GOOD and THE BAD
This is what my pest control guy uses BUT...the claim that it "eliminates rat and mice within a few days" is a stretch. The stuff kills mice & rats, without doubt, but it doesn't stop them coming. To the contrary, I think it attracts MORE! I've been refilling the bait stations quarterly for three years - and I still have rats ... and I live in a suburban patio home - not a farm or rural area! I do have a lot of foliage and a small pond ... but that can't be the only problem...I no longer put out bird feeders, I don't have fish in my pond... I don't know what is attracting all these rodents! Tracking down a stink in my garage today - I found a HUGE dead Norwegian rat covered in maggots. Not a pretty picture, so not posting :(
