Contact Camp Chef. Tell them your issue. I found the "shelves" work on most Camp Chef stoves.

Q: What is the weight capacity? And can they resist a hot pan?

Not sure of exact weight capacity, but I have had at least 16 lbs. of iron fry pans on mine with no problems. The shelves are powder coated to resist scraping, rust but putting a straight off the fire 200 plus degrees pan may "scar" the coating. I've always used old worn out hot pads that were "donated" from the kitchen. Go to camp chef web site for their recommendations. Oh, the shelves are easy to install and after using for utensils, spices, or plates to serve on, you'll be glad you have them!

No you can't fold the shelves in if you have the griddle on the burners
