Would these support as much weight as if you simply had fixed legs attached to a table top or do these wobble bad??

They wobble bad! I made a table for ping pong and I had to put pieces of plywood with screws on the corners. I could not charge for the brackets so I lost that money.

I mounted it to tabletop and tested the motion and it worked fine. Once I added the legs it wasn't folding any longer. Any ideas? Will troubleshoot.

did you put the legs on the wrong side? Or - There is a "latch" that you need to release to get the legs to fold.

Would these work for short leaves on a small tri-corner table where there’s only 2” of space on the fixed side? Would need at least three, of course.

I would not use these on any free standing table. They work very well for legs on a fold down table that is anchored to a wall.
