High qualty, refurbished, used laptop, works very well after about a month of use.
After about a month with this laptop I think I may keep it. Works well, a very few minor scrapes/ scuffs do not affect it's performance . I traded the preinstalled Windows 10 Pro OS for the latest version of Mint Linux, as I have with other Lenovo Think Pad laptops I've owned in recent years. Am not disappointed.Would recommend some consideration to used and/or refurbished laptops offered on Amazon. You may be pleasantly surprised with what you may discover. Good choice for students, work from home, or just saving $$$ on your next computer. Please do your own research on used / "renewed" electronics offered on Amazon. Buying "sight unseen" used electronics on any retailer's website has a certain level of risk.

Customer support
External battery was dead and seller quickly sent a new one. Very good support of their product.

Lenovo backlit keyboard Missing
Product ID cut down to barcode only. I leave it you to speculate why. Yamicsoft Windows 10 Manager reveals this model should have an illuminated keyboard. It does not. It's clean and it works, but the memory and hard drive are not Lenovo. They are SK hynix. These do not materially change the functionality. The fact that this model lists a backlit keyboard on Lenovo's website, but was rebuilt without one does.

Its good but it has some things
The laptop seems good so far, ive been using it for an entire day. It came only with the removable battery. The structure has no cracks or scratches. Screen is touch (i wasnt expecting that).A few other things to mention.1) The "h" key doesnt feel good, its not well placed.2) It came with 16GB of RAM. One stick is Samsung brand, the other is a chinese one. But its doing good so far.3) Also the SSD is not from a well known brand. Its is called "Patriot", but so far is looking good, it is brand new (tested with crystaldisk)

Beast of a machine at a great price!
Absolutely fantastic machine. Exactly as described. I'd argue that it's almost like a new machine. Starts up incredibly fast because of the SSD. Setup was easy. Love it!

UPDATED 10/18/2023: Maybe not quite the deal I thought
Update 10/18/2023: After using the laptop for some time, I have finally acquired a Thunderbolt 3 device and wanted to try it out with the laptop. Unfortunately, THE THUNDERBOLT 3 PORT IS DEAD! It seems like this is a known issue with the T470 and Lenovo was repairing them for machines that were still under warranty. Now, I don't know if this seller knew that this particular laptop had a dead port or not, but it's very annoying that I bought what I expected was a fully functional laptop only to find out one of the key features, a modern Thunderbolt 3 port, does not work. BUYER BEWARE AND TEST EVERYTHING WHEN YOU GET IT. SELLER MAY BE SELLING DEFECTIVE SYSTEMS.I've been a long-time Thinkpad user. I purchased this T470 as a replacement for my aging x220. Out of the gate, the laptop worked flawlessly. The battery appears to still have plenty of life left in it and the laptop was, overall, in very good condition. I did, however, notice a small crack in the plastic near the edge of the palm rest, but it's not noticeable without very close inspection and does not impede operation at all.Purchased a secondary, internal battery for this and a second 16GB stick or RAM and now I feel like I have a brand new computer, just as capable as anything I would have purchased new but at a fraction of the price. With the secondary battery installed I am able to get upwards of 6-8hrs of battery life, no problem (was previously 3-4hrs on the included battery). I am running Debian Linux and have zero hardware compatibility issues. The 4xx series Thinkpads are the last T series to have user serviceable parts (non-soldered RAM, easily changed batteries, discrete wifi cards, upgradable SSD, etc.). Thankfully, the 4xx series, despite only being advertised with 32GB max RAM support can handle up to 64GB and, with the M.2 NVME support, I expect that this laptop will last me a very very long time.

Dated but very reliable for average use
While the T470 is a few years old at this point, it has a pleasing form factor that is silm but still has native ports for Ethernet and a proper docking port underneath for expandability. Plus, it has a removable and replaceable battery- always happy to see that for modern laptops. The trade off is, the guts are a bit dated- though they will service the average officer worker or serve as a casual home device exceedingly well, better than a chrome book but limited compared to more modern laptops (that are several hundred dollars more in price). The screen is the most noticeable tell-tale sign of age, less than 1080p but works just fine connected to an external monitor. This device is not intended for gaming or for significant power users that require a higher CPU and more RAM for their apps/dev platforms.
