Spelling Words for 5th Grade: 2,000 Words Every Kid Should Know (Grade 5 English Ages 10-11)

I bought this trying to build English vocabulary for some high school students who are ESL students. The book has words but no definitions or sample sentences. I found the book frustrating, i.e. if the student doesn't know the word, this is not enough help.

My fourth grader loves how the words are categorized!

Honestly I thought this book would be well, more. It indeed has 2000 spelling words but that's literally all it has. No practice, no assignments which is fine, just be aware that it is a small thin book, about the size of a DVD case just not as thick.

Ich habe das Buch für meine Kinder gekauft, damit sie ihren Wortschatz erweitern. Das Buch verspricht leider mehr, als es bietet. Die Kinder hatten keinen Spaß daran. Besser man kauft Krimis oder sonstige leichte Lektüren, damit sie den Wortschatz spielend leicht erweitern.

Just gives u a random list of words without definitions. U are better off just flipping through a dictionary with ur kid. What a waste of money.
