I hooked this up and it failed. All I got was a constant re boot. The power was not sufficient to power the firestick.But . . . I also had bought a bracket to mount the sound bar directly the TV. That required taking down the TV and removing the mounting hardware from the TV. With much better access, I discovered a second USB port. After putting it all back together I tried the newly discovered USB port, and it now works.Lesson learned, or rather reinforced. Not all USB ports are equal. An explanation in the description would be a big help for all us non- techies.

Plugged the cable into the TV and into the Firestick and sure enough it started up fine. Then the Firestick started to update and an error came on the screen that the Firestick isn't getting enough power. It went into a reboot loop. I plugged the firestick into an outlet and it works perfectly fine. This cable was a waste of time and money.

I ordered this in case my granddaughter had an issue with access to a wall outlet for power. I wasn't sure how effective it would be and if it would work as described but it works great. Since the TV must be on to use the Fire stick, its a no-brainer.It simply used the power coming in for the TV to power the fire stick. As long as you have a USB outlet on your TV near the HDMI outlet, you're in business. It really helps keep all your cabling behind the TV to a minimum. Love it. Ill be ordering more for my other TVs.

I bought this cable because I was getting a message saying not sufficient usb power and thought it would fix the problem. It did not but it would have been perfect to help hide the wires. The cable appears to be well made but I am not sure if I just read the description wrong or it just didn’t perform. The power problem may even be in my tv so I do not want to just fault the cable. So if anyone is buying it to solve a usb power problem I would not recommend but if you are getting it to help hide wires this will be perfect.
