I’ve already purchased this product and it has a strong smell to it. Any advice on how to get rid of the smell?

Of what material is the inside of the tatami made?

It’s woven grasses on top. It has a vague scent of the grasses. (Not like yard grass) The back of it is thick felt grey/black color, and stiff like thick cardboard. This tatami keeps you from sweating or getting cold as far as I’ve used it in 80-69 degrees. I believe it helps circulate air beneath the futon to give you a great sleep. I sleep on it with a thin Japanese futon on a bed frame that has wooden slats. The tatami does not sink between the slats and the slats are about 3 inches apart. The edges are seems with a fabrics trim. This is a great tatami. It’s not cheaply made and falling apart like others I’ve had. I hope I’ve answered your question.
