Works great.
Works great holding items to photograph in place like flowers at my hummingbird setup.

Perfect for macro photography!
This is my one and only indispensable tool when I am setting up a flower for macro photography. It does not have to be stuck into the dirt to work, as most of my macro work is done indoors. I use a small bench vice and I clamp the base with just mild pressure to hold it, then I can arrange the flexible shaft, and finally grip the stem of the flower with the adjustable jaw.Everything that Wimberley makes is of exquisite quality and this device is no exception.

This is the only plamp to consider for outdoor photography.
I originally purchased another product that was $10 cheaper but far inferior to the Wimberly. I love all the options the clamp provides, the action of the neck and the heavy duty ability of the reversible spike. A very well designed product. I also like that there are additional pieces available to add to the functionality.

This style of the popular Plamp is very handy when photographing flowers without a tripod. The self-storing spike, a screwdriver, can be driven into the ground close to your subject and the clamp securely adjusted to hold the flower precisely where you want it.
