Make a great outfeed table.
I use these for wood working projects. I notched a 2x6 to create an out-feed platform for my table saw (see picture). Works great. When i'm not using them for the out-feed, I put a piece of plywood across the 2x6 they hold and make a work table. I know for a little extra money I could get the ones that have micro adjustment, but for what I use them for, a micro adjust isn't needed. Very help units and easy to use. Some of the reviewers said they are hard to adjust up and down. Mine work fine and don't stick at all. Very easy to adjust. Maybe I got lucky, or they corrected the problem. Either way, I'm happy i got them. I was planning to make my own until I saw how cheap these were. Couldn't pass the up.

Versitile stands
I don't have a table saw so I use a portable bench saw or circular saw, which means I need in-feed/out-feed supports as well as horses when dealing with larger material. When shopping for a solution, these stands stood out. They have a clamping function that comes in handy for various projects. When they arrived and after seeing them in person, I realized how versatile they are. First of all, they are heavy duty and built well. One big advantage they give is the tripod design of the footing when working on uneven ground and the ability to level the support structure. Other stands with the 'T' foot design will rock and teeter. If you watch the presentation, you will see other aspects where these stands will be very helpful. I'm very happy with my purchase of 2 of these. I'll be using them extensively.

Just paid for itself in one afternoon
I love it. Why four stars? Materials could be higher quality. They aren't terrible but could be better. The pad that holds the 2x material could be larger and more robust. That said, this thing will help you get two person jobs done by yourself. Just today I used it to hold one end of a 2x12x14' beam for a deck. I used an automotive floor jack for the other end to level it out. In the Jaw Stand, there was no way that board was going to fall over, even with no support on the other side. Once I cut the posts and installed the connectors, i just added the second 2x12 to complete my beam. There was no way I could have done that job by myself without it. I actually called off my buddy who was going to help me with the project tomorrow, don't need the help any more.On top of that, I've used it to support and/or catch long boards and sheets for cutting on table saws, chop saws and circular saws. Get creative and this thing can help you a lot. I think infomercials are horrible and I am instantly turned off by brands/products which use them. I was reluctant to buy a Rockwell product because of this fact. Truth is, this product was well thought out and fairly well executed in terms of performance vs. price. Highly recommended!

Simple, Ideal For My Shop Needs....
This does exactly what I hoped it would do at a price point that makes a lot of sense. I primarily needed another "hand" to deal with long lumber on my chop saw and table saw....bought two of them for that purpose. Happily, it does other things that are going to come in handy, such as pivoting at up to 90 degrees to hold things like doors in place as you hang hinges...I did not expect the built in clamp to be a vice, and its not....nor was it intended to be. It merely holds material in place to act as backers or braces for certain applications. If you want a vice -- buy one that says it is. If you need a third hand to stabilize items, hold cabinets in place against a wall, deal with longer material....this is a great tool.Assembly is about 12 seconds. Place the top half into the tripod and tighten. Done.

well designed for doing the job it is supposed to do
I purchased the jawstand to assist me in hanging cabinets and installing crown molding. It works great for that. I primarily use a 2 x 4 in the clamp so have not experienced the trouble/disappointment that others have in regard to smaller dimension wood. While intuitive to use it is not always easy to intuit the method to get to what you want to happen. While similar to a camera tripod it is different. For example, to raise the height you loosen a turn bold and then pull the stand up. The first couple of times I was unwilling to pull as hard as it seems necessary. Not to give a tool the upper hand, I pulled hard hoping not to break something and viola. Perhaps I would have had less trouble if I tried every function out using the instruction manual. After mixing intuition with the manual I am very, very happy to be able to hang cabinets alone. I look foreword to finding other ways the jawstand will help me with DIY carpentry.

Great device for my needs
I read a ton of reviews using words like "flimsy" and "cheap".... this thing has been super useful for me. If you have to route a door for hinges, steady a door while you install or bore for knobs, or hold up a 100 lb. redwood gate while you install hinges, this thing is priceless. In my opinion it's super sturdy, I never thought it would hold up a solid redwood gate while installing... but it did. It's more than paid for itself the first few times I used it.

Extra Set of Hands
First time using was yesterday and it was super handy to have. Was making 2x6 frames to top off my deck planters. Was like having another set of hands. Folds up to a small foot print and is light weight yet very sturdy. It can easily be stored out of the way when not in use.

Would recommend
The three legged design allows for less tipping and more time working. The clamp allows for your material to either slide across the plastic top or clamp a 2x4 or similar for better glide
