I purchased this retractable gate for a single doorway to keep my two toy class dogs in a specific area. I know the directions state to install them four inches from the ground but I would advice you install the gate so that it's almost touching the ground - why? Because any dog would be able to push through it if it's four inches off the ground (one of mine did - with ease) - there is much more 'give' to it - it flexes too easily. If it's nearly touching the ground, that's not a problem. Very easy to walk through and then re-hook the gate. Overall, great idea and I'm happy with the purchase.

Have really enjoyed this gate. We struggles finding the right fit for the top of our stairs due to an angle between the wall and post. This ended up being the person solution. Our older child can easily open and close as well which was important all the while protecting the little one. Feels safe and secure. Was a little worried about top of stairs and possibly getting underneath even but so far we have seen no issues and feel safe with this. We have it flush to the floor and no gaps.

This is the second one of these gates that I've purchased. I use them to keep my dogs out of the living room (and off the couches) while we're out, and the most recent one was bought for the front steps on our porch so the dogs can come out and sit with my on the front porch in the mornings without fear of them running off after a squirrel. They are SUPER easy to install!! I love that the come with sticky pads on the install hardware so you literally just have to line it up where you want, and then screw it in. They are super well built and sturdy once you lock the gate. If you do not lock it, the fabric can be pushed to a point that a child or animal can push underneath, but once it's locked, that's no longer an issue. I also love that when it's not in use, it's barely noticeable and just rolls into itself. I no longer have to find a place to store a gate, like the old plastic gates I used to have. I definitely recommend these gates. I also love that the come in different colors. The grey matches my home decor perfectly.

It's a good gate, but if you have a mischievous dog they will get out. Our dog is a corgi and she pushes the hooks open and goes underneath the fence. This gate comes with suction cups for the floors so if you use them they might solve the problem. We just threw ours out coz we didn't think we'd need them. Go figure

The best. Wish we would have bought this sooner. Love the fact that you drill it in so there’s no risk of it falling over. It also has a lock on the top so you don’t have to worry about it stretching out when it’s not supposed to. Our little one isn’t walking yet and the dogs haven’t tried to jump on it but the mesh part is super thick so I’m not worried about it getting torn.

This is just what we were looking for. It’s not a huge gate and it locks great. My baby just started crawling and has already found the steps so that was something that was a need, not a want, but I do like that it is retractable and can be used or not used whenever I need it.

Like the review says, works but installation was terrible. They provide double side tape to hold the brackets after you positioned them to make easier (no measuring), but the tape isn’t strong enough and the bracket just falls off. Thr first gate I got lucky and managed to get the measurements correct, but I have a second gate where I am struggling to get it measured correctly. If the tape held the brackets even for 2 min so I could mark holes, that walked be enough.

Works great as intended but the advice I would give instead of the dry wall anchors they give you go out and buy a 50-75 pound rated dry wall anchor and use that works even better
