A great mix of capacity, lightness and features.
Following an exchange of emails with the very helpful Cabin Max customer support team I decided to purchase the Manhattan backpack 24L 40x30x20cm for my short trip to Europe on Wizz Air. The bag is very well made, weighs 700g, and I was able to take enough clothing for a 3 day stay along with a mirrorless camera body and two lenses. There is a main compartment, with a separate netted pocket and a compartment for a laptop. Although I didn’t take a laptop on this occasion my 16” HP laptop fits easily in the compartment. Both zips for the main compartments are easy to operate and are lockable. There is a handy pocket at the front, useful for holding documents you may need when checking in etc. The backpack straps are wide and very comfortable, they detach at the bottom and can be stored in a separate pocket. There are two handles, one on the top, the other on the side to make it easy to carry. The bag has a side bottle holder designed to hold the largest of water bottles. A luggage strap makes it easy to slip the bag on top of a roller suitcase. One of the main reasons for choosing the Manhattan was that I felt it had the correct balance of pockets and available space.Although my carry-on bag wasn't checked for size or weight, I did a test fit in the cage and as it was mostly filled with clothes it did go in with a little manipulation. Being fabric, if it was overfilled, I think I could have had an issue.Despite that potential issue I am still very happy with my purchase.

I recommend it
Been using for almost 2 years now, great for hand luggage. Holds a lot in there and fits up to Wizzair

Brilliant
Fitted everything in for a long weekend and it went comfortably under the seat of a Norwegian Air flight. Saved me a lot of money.

Personal favourite out of the underseat bag range
Overall I find this the ideal underseat cabin bag for me. I also have a Cabin Max Memphis and Metz in the EasyJet (45x36x20) size and another Manhattan in the Ryanair (40x25x20) size. I’ve used this version of the bag on 4 trips so far and it’s worked really well for me. Being able to detach and stow the shoulder straps is its advantage over the Memphis or Metz when storing under a plane seat. This bag has some all around padding to give it a bit of structure (the Metz only has padding on the back area, with fabric only sides), however it can be a bit squishy and like any fabric bag will be deformed by its contents. The balance feels right as it’s enough to keep your stuff safe without extra bulk. Unlike the Metz there is a sleeve in the back part for a laptop, or in my case iPad, which has provided it enough protection, the Memphis bag has this too. Another great feature lacking on the Metz is the inside mesh pocket/packing cube which is perfect for storing enough pants and socks for your trip. The fabric has picked up the odd scuff mark, however I feel it’s holding up well. It’s accompanied me on flights with Vueling, EasyJet and Wizz without issue. Comparing the main choices from Cabin Max, the Metz (their budget option, but a great bag), the Manhattan offers much more with the laptop sleeve, detachable straps and built in storage cube for very little extra cost. It’s a tougher call compared to the Memphis, which overall I would admit is a step up again as a nicer bag with the built in compression compartment, and other nice features like a secure pocket and few other nice touches, however it typically costs a bit more than the Manhattan and it can’t detach and stow the shoulder straps. If a friend asked for my advice, I’d suggest skipping the Metz and getting the Manhattan in the size appropriate for the airline. I know the checking of sizes by airlines is a bit hit and miss and some people brag online you can chance it, but on flights I’ve recently taken the airlines appear to be getting stricter and it’s been reassuring that my bag can fit (although it’s fabric/squishy so you can overpack it). All in all I find this bag great and would recommend the everyone.

Great under seat luggage
The fabric isn’t particularly thick or heavy-duty, but it’s strong enough for its purpose without adding extra weight to your baggage. When fully packed, it’s not the most comfortable to carry as a backpack. However, considering the price, it offers great value. It complies with all airline under-seat restrictions and is spacious enough to hold all the essentials for a several-day trip. Traveling with only this bag saves time at check-in, avoids waiting at the baggage claim, and helps you save money on plane tickets by skipping checked luggage fees

Perfect size for short trips.
Used for four days in Barcelona this week. Packed spare shoes, four changes of clothes, cosmetics, chargers, camera, handbag etc. Amazed how easy it all fitted in to what seemed, at first glance, a small space. Useful pockets for everything. I didn’t take IPad this trip but there’s a perfect padded pocket at the back for that. Light and comfortable to carry and meant didn’t have to pay any luggage charges, or wait at airport for bag to arrive. A good buy which I can see being my go to bag for future trips.

Must have if your traveling
I was really impressed with just how much I could get in to this Flight Case, compartments everywhere.very light weight and easy to take around, and was really supprised with the shoulder straps that were concealed in the back liner. An absolute must for taking extra luggage.
