It does not say 45 lbs on the holder.

Q: Anyone had issues with not using drywall screws hanging about 40 lbs in either garage or shed

If your inference is mounting ANY hose hanger to a sheetrock wall with sheetrock screws, you are already in trouble. Locate a stud on a garage or shed wall and used 2-1/2 inch deck screws. I have two 50 foot hoses hanging on mine and no issues.

Q: Has anyone installed hose holder on a brick?

Yes. You have to use a drill bit made for drilling brick. And use a size smaller than the screws you are using.
