These work just as well as you would think. Anyone who comes into your home hoping to "check it out" sees these and knows not to bother trying to kick or barrage this door. Although I miss my dog very much, I sleep almost as comfortably with these brackets protecting my doors at night. Just add a good, knot free 2x4 and you are all set!

These do the job.Used my own longer deck screws though.Ones supplies are pretty wimpy.

Back to order another set. These are well made and very sturdy. I only took off one star because I feel they should have come with longer stronger screws. Picked those up at the store so no biggie. I have two 2x4 slung across our front door and soon our side door. At 63 year of age, I need more lead time so if youre going to put a shoulder to my door, you gonna have to work a bit harder.

I personally after purchasing a similar product and realizing it was indeed not that secure was surprised that this bracket is almost as ensecure as the last one. Its the part of the bracket that holds the 2x4 that needd beefed up. It also needs something to lock the 2x4 in. This could assist in safety perhaps in a locked bedrm or bthrm. I certainly wouldnt use it for a warehouse or shed. Thieves are determined. They are coming in. Just how long can you hold them off. Thats why I say this is a mediocre security device.
