Bodum Spare Filter Mesh - 4, 6 and 8 Cup

As a product its great. 7cm in diameter with a 5mm washer reinforced hole in the centre, it fits the 3 cup press which is the one that is 13cm high. Nice snug fit against the glass and, after getting used to the coffee that came through my old deteriorating filter until it final split, it produces a great coffee.For the price, its a very expensive necessity, when combined with the postage approximately half the cost of an entire cafetiere !!Packaging (depending on the merchant you buy from) It could be protected from being folded or damaged by a piece of cardboard in a small envelope and a first class stamp. Instead mine arrived loose inside a soft jiffy bag requiring large letter postage

I liked the efficiency of how it fitted my cafetiere snugly when plunged down. No coffee grounds escaped as with my old one I used a teastrainer over my mug when pouring coffee out.

As others have said this is made for a Bodum and the central hole is slightly small for other cafitierres. However it is very well made with a strong outer rim and a solid central hole surround. A quick of opening up with a dremmel and grind stone soon made it fit my cafitierre and it does a very good job.

Obviously simple concept - but our old small Bodum had a split at it's edge. Always meant a mouthful of coffee grinds at then end. This fitted perfectly. Not cheap but should last well.

Arrived in very good time. Fitted our coffee pot perfectly until our teenager smashed the pot. Now use the filter to screen out conversations between our daughter and her friends when they think that just because I am quiet I cannot hear them! It is also very useful as a sun shade for our pet snail Merv!I would buy again, and maybe a bigger version this time for when the mother in law visits!

Ordered this replacement for my 6 cup glass cafetiere which I thought was by Bodum. It must be another make, as this filter would not fit over the spindle inside the cafetiere because of the reinforced rivet thingy around the central hole. (My original filter did not have any reinforcement around the hole). However I managed to carefully prise this off the new one with the aid of the end of a sharp pointed knife, and then it fitted perfectly.

Don't be tempted to be ecologically responsible and buy only the filter. It is rubbish.At first it seemed OK if very expensive but now after less than a month of once daily use it has gone out of shape and developed spiky bits around the edge. I am also finding grounds stuck to the edge which will not easily rinse off.It is a bit suspicious that one filter is purported to fit more than one size cafetiere. Mine is an 8 cup, one litre size and the filter seems a bit too large - anyway it is the quality that is at issue here and it is simply not good enough! More to the point on amazon a Bodum Kenya 8 cup cafetiere, which I have just bought, costs not much more than £1 over the price of this poorly made filter!
