Quality seems to be slipping! I have already purchased three of these from this vendor. The latest one DOES NOT FIT in the Baofeng UV-5R or UV-5RTP. On closer inspection the casing for the two-prong plug has changed style and is now too wide for the radio and will need filing down.I'll keep it and modify the plug housing with a scalpel ... but really, this should have been checked.Otherwise, this is still a fine budget microphone at a fantastic price!

Was working absolutely fine until I dropped it on a hard surface and the internal speaker glue dislodge the speaker from the inside easyfix opened it up put silicone sealant on the back of a speaker to prevent it from moving again and reglued the speaker position think it sounds a lot better now as well maybe just a bozebo effect. Still a great speaker I have a icom mic/speaker which I think I paid 50 quid for so for this was excellent value for money and is a lot larger in the hand.

This item is of very poor quality, it's like a children's toy.When trying to communicate using the item it's not possible to hear what the other person is saying as it's very tinny.Additionally, I contacted the seller to advise I wanted a refund and they informed me I would have to pay for international airmail to China to get it back to them before they would refund! As this would cost more than the item itself I had to raise a dispute with Amazon who refunded me and I threw the item in the bin.You get what you pay for, and I wouldn't recommend you purchase this.

Pros:* A surprisingly loud speaker* CheapCons:* The microphone needs to be held very close to your mouth - you might as well do that with the base unit.* The combination is temperamental. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes the speaker doesn't register with the base unit at all, and sometimes it partially works in the sense that the base unit stops producing sound, but neither does the speaker. You won't notice this except by the eventual absence of any communication.Since that renders it worse than useless, it's a poor product even at this price.
