Easy to use, well made and effective
Bought to take a closer look at the engagement ring I'd bought for my (now) fiancé; made me appreciate the tidy sum I'd spent on a few rocks a lot more, so it must be good. Great for looking at many items a little more closely. It's a good price and very small, so no reason not to have one at home.

Restricted Loupe
Why did you choose this product over others?:First off, its nice - it has an acrylic base and plastic rim but doesn't feel cheap. Its simple to use for looking at things like plants up close. My major drawback with it is that to look at something in focus isn't an exact science, and the cup actually stops you looking at things in the detail you want. For example, I want to use the loupe to look at a watch face. Well, I can't really because the cup prohibits it getting closer to the lens. The focus is just not there for some items because of the base of the cup. So its nice, but I need another loupe now to view things at the desired closeness. Value for money:Decent for the money but feels like it's better for kids than adults.

Perectly adequate
This does the job without breaking the bank.I have a Zeiss loupe costing ten times as much as this Carson and the Zeiss really is much better. For photo/ slide/ negative purposes though, this budget loupe is perfectly adequate. It's not edge to edge sharp like the Zeiss but it is no problem to move your head a fraction to check each corner of a slide. That really is no big deal.At this price, buy two and have a spare handy.
